I know that the RD is probably a bad word for you guys but they are cheap - they work (although sometimes labour intensive). Would you suggest i buy one for starting my business? Otherwise what other machine can i buy for same price £400? Thanks Alex

If you only have a very low budget try this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carpet-Cleaning-Machine-Carpet-Cleaner_W0QQitemZ150314673806QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA?hash=item150314673806&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
it has twin motors ad 30psi spray.
the guy sys he is selling it as he has now upgraded to a better machine
but if you insist on buying at the low end it aint a bad machine and you get parts easy.
I have one which I now use as a spotter machine - perhaps used twice per year now.

RD's don't work. if youve only got £400 quid, don't bother, seriously, don't bother. you've got to advertise remember. £5000 minimum to get a decent return for advertising, unless your prepared to knock on doors for the next 6 months, and even then if your knocking on doors your not earning money.
i know its harsh what ive just said, but cmon. lets be serious.
£400. your joking right.
derek
ps, really sorry for the harsh comments, but thats what we're all thinking. well most of us.

I have made £1800 for the last month and £1500 the month before hiring the rug doctor and thats after costs. Why wont this work? I feel my standard of work is excellent - even if rug dco is rubbish I dont leave the house until I have finished. They have all been happy and a lot of repeat. Im looking for rug Doc quality for cheapest machine possible.
My income so far has been vastly consumed by livng expenses as this is all im doing right now.

machine ok for maintainance but not for carpet cleaning f/t
try a"k"archer(express cleaning) and repair it yourself(order parts and diy)... but will be forever filling/emptying bucket
but seriously.............save your money and buy a good 2nd hand ninja or equivelant........(got mine for 1000...........but have upgraded it after making money with it)
and you will wonder what on earth was you doing with a rug doctor.......
-
I'm going to ditch my 3 stage twin vac and get an RD ;D
If you are making that money why don't you reinvest in a decent portie and make even more?
-

If you want to gather up decent equipment to look professional then you will need to spend the money. I don't think you will be taken seriously using a Rug Doctor and we know they do not give good results. We clean a lot of carpets after people have cleaned carpets with Rug Doctors. Have you been on any courses? I kinda feel I know the answer to that question already. You will not be achieving the same results as a trained professional carpet cleaner.
You will need to Speculate to acumalate either that or just carry on as you are - Simple really

£1800 in a month with the RD, fine, but what about the other 29 days?
Dave.
