We all know the building trade is in deep ****. We have been doig work for a company the last few years mostly sparkle cleans on show homes etc. The company who did their builders cleans has quit and we have been asked to take over. We have done builders cleans before but i'm wondering if we should do them for a lower price as they give us regular work anyway and they are not selling many houses. Am I being too nice here?
Any ideas on what would be a fair price for cleaning a standard 3 bed new build in the current financial climate?

all depends on the spec ...windows covered.unsuites.rendered walls.painted inside and out.general state of property.

Don't be too soft. Do it at your normal rate. Do you think for one minute they are bothered about your business.

Why cut prices?, yes your being to nice, why risk your business that has taken time and effort to build.

Expect three cleans to be called per house.
Quote low and you will regret it as these cleans are rarely completed in the time expected. You will have the trades in and out, getting in your way and mucking up where you've just cleaned, right up to the end.
As a very rough guide allow at least 7 man hours for the first clean (3.5 hours for a 2 man team), 4.5 the second and 4 the third on a three bed with en-suite and downstairs WC.
Charge at your regular hourly rate and include a travelling cost.
Quote sensibly here and it sounds like a done deal. After all, You have been approached by this company which means they are already satisfied with your quality of work and prices.

Went on a business link course last week, they gave us a chart that showed how much you could put your prices up and how many customers you could loose and still make the same money. When I started I was doing every thing as cheap as I could and was gutted if I missed out on a job but now I charge a fair bit more and only get two out of three jobs. I am quite cheap on the drains and still make good money
