Hi Glen.

There seem to be three packages worth taking a look at, all come with free trial version so its best to download them all and see which ones works best for you. There is Window Cleaner Pro (www.windowcleanerpro.com), George (www.georgesystems.co.uk) and Round Tracker (I think its on Window Cleaning Resources website).

well ive tried all 3 of them, round tracker was on my comp for all of a couple of days, george is good but once compared to window cleaning pro doesnt come near, id say window cleaning pro all the way, it does all you could ever need and the back up from Ian the designer is 2nd too none, if you ever have any probs he is a phone call or email away and responds very quickly, also if there is anything that the programme needs you can suggest it and ian will do his best to add it to a future update.

At a cost of £159 it should be better, it should be 3x better but is it?,  for just £50 I don't think you can beat George,

Ditto, george all the way, only a pound a month for internet back up too, 12£ a year :)

Hi Steve

No I dont, you can get a free trial. I will try it at some stage to see what its like. I dont know if any one else does.

I use george just for my round, and for keeping track of payments. Then I use Monney Manager for my accounts, as the reports are better and data entry is second to none.

Did you not go the Service Ce0 route?

Regards Roy

Hi Roy

Yes i bought Service Ceo some time ago now at a huge cost. The one thing it does not do which would have massive time savings for us is a link to Sage accounts. Roundpro does and it would save us loads of time. The other way around it would be for me to pay another company to develope a link to Ceo. I am getting a trial disc so will evaluate when i get it.

Hi Ian

I have not made my mind up what package to use yet as they all seem lacking in one way or another. WCP would be fine if i could link to sage otherwise i end up doing two lots of data entry.

What data would need to go to and from Sage, if you can provide me with some details I can take at implementing this.

Thanks

WCPro is my choice,.. worth every penny. Download all the trials and decide for yourself though.

Useful thread this, as I'm getting a mini-laptop (or netbook if you like) in the next few weeks.
It's small enough to take with me, and I won't have to faff about uploading and downloading details, as I'll have the full program on me. ;)

I've downloaded George demo, and I'll try WCP.

Looks like more useful features on WCP from what I've read...

It's definately the way to go.

If I get a new customer I can add all the details there and then.
Otherwise I'd have to write it all down, attach PDA to computer, add details to George, download to PDA...etc...sod all that! ;D

for the price of window cleaner pro you could buy your netbook.
It is an idea the netbook, you just have to remember to keep it charged.
Wcp was good in the demo, lots of pretty colours.
George- not very pretty, it just tells you what jobs you have to do, who owes you money, how much you spend on the business, and how many miles you do. it then puts it into weekly, monthly, or yearly breakdowns. oh, thats all you really need. (sugestion for george, what about more pretty colours? >:()

hands up if you feel sick now that Wcp is down to £150 ( you know who you are)
 :o ;) ::)

How do you mean 'sick that WCP is down to £150' ?? Everyone who has bought the software so far is more than happy with the software, updates and level of support they have received. We are available as much as possible via phone, MSN, online or via email. Plus we release updates regularly based on user feedback. I think there are more than enough businesses out there, some who will get on with George, WCP, RoundPro, RoundTracker or ServiceCEO, it all depends on your expectations and what program works well for your business.

Thanks

Ian

WCP integrating with sage would be a HUGE advantage,... I don't use sage yet, but was planning to get it as the wife has experience using it and is taking over the accounts,...

I only mean that it was at £199 for a "reletively" short period and it has come down in price.
I know how I feel when I buy something in a shop and 3 weeks later it's in the sale at 3/4 what I paid. ( the old D'oh if only I waited)

I will say though, that you have clearly put alot of time into WCP, and when I tried the demo the response time for few faults that occured was very quick.

Thanks Niall,

Everyone who purchased WCP at £199 was refunded the difference as we had not finally decided on the RRP.

If you have a little laptop with you and put Round Tracker v4 on there you'd be laughing.
Squeaky, you should think about getting an inverter to charge it. Get a cheap little printer and you can be printing off your invoices there and then.

I tried other programs but Round Tracker is so much quicker to use for scheduling and updating stuff.
Now that you can do the invoicing straight off its fantastic.

I used to use v3 and it was good once you got used to it. This new one is the bizz IMHO

WCP the support for this program is spot on . If you need a add on Ian will try his best to do it. Best buy for me, made my accounts much more easier as i was using paper before. The Pda is good as well saves lots of time. As for the back ups you can do this your self for free so i don't see a problem there.  ;)
