Title: how do you get in with local authorities?

who do you ask or how do you get into local authority work?  do you just tender for contracts advertised or do you need to know somebody? ???

Not much use to you, but in Ireland it is all done through a web tendering process. Not sure about the U.K. but would assume that thee is a process of some sort.

I often find that the best source of info is to ask the local auth directly or someone who works there.

If you dont want to ask questions that undermine your professionalism if you get the work down the lie then ring a council in  another area and ask about their processes and if they are similar in other regions.

My LA insists all contractors are on their own appoved contractors list, or you dont get any jobs. Ask if your areas have one and how you get on it.
