OK, got my pole fixed with its brush head adapter etc, and the new gardiners SL brush head attached, but what i want to know is is it really necessary to use gaffer/electrical tape on the pole sections for the push fit?
Is there a particular reason for this?

It's to stop the poles from jamming together; the SL2 suffers with the same problem so I believe from posts I've read on this site.
Do you understand where to tape them?
-
Not sure, try it without ? , tape is meant for c/f poles. The zensor if g/f and if the sections do stick you wil be able to get a good grip on them without crushing the sections and they may or may not come loose. What do you think Swc ?

Ahh i see!
No not really sure the correct position however i will look back at the old threads on the subject of these poles.

Push the joints together- but not too tight, then wrap 4/5 turns of tape to make a ridge/stop that the pole cannot compress further together.

Thanks Jeff ;)

The top section in this picture is the male end; the bottom section is the female end.
When the male is inserted into the female; tape just below where they join; on the male end.
This acts as a 'stop' so the poles don't compress together and you end up having to pull them apart.
I've also taped the bottom of the female end, just to protect it.

Thanks for the info and the pic..
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to tape the female section to protect the ends... I will do this.
I remember someone using different colour tape, this could be a good idea for easy reference.

yes me, each section has a different colour, thus its easy to put together quick

Matt's a 'Southerner' ;D; it's not difficult to discern which end fits in where without different bits of coloured tape; honest.
It's all simple; you don't even need to tape anything up; not to begin with anyway.
It's a class bit of kit.

I like things easy, when i was building it, i twice put the wrong pole in the wrong bit, thus i popped into B&Q got the coloured tape

Ive added a Gardiners flocked superlight brush to the end of it, it does get quite heavy after adding the brush, if its like this with a superlight brush, then using any other brush would be rather off putting.
However it looks the business!
