I've seen a few variations in price for a 4040 and i was wondering if anyone new the cheapest. i know that some differ in quality but just seeing which supplier has the best deal.
anyone know?
i'm after a membrane and housing but a good membrane price would be nice for future reference
thanks

With 40 inch RO systems the quality of the membrane is paramount. OK you may pay a bit more for it but you will get whatever little extra it costs you many times over.
Without a doubt in my experience the very best place to get a quality system at a very good price is from June at Gapswater. She knows the business inside out and the back up is second to none.
www.gapswater.co.uk .. tell her I told you to call. She will deffo make it more expensive if you do ;D

if just looked at the site and that membrane is the cheapest i've seen so far.
I thought gaps might come up as there is a lot of talk about them when it comes to filtration. so if its the cheapest and good quality i think i've found the answer ;D thanks andrew ;)

does anyone know if a 4040 has a shelf life or the pre filters? if its been stored unopened for about 12 months would it be ok?
thanks
-
with a 4040, make sure you get the proper pre filters, especially the carbon one. Go for a ChlorPlus carbon filter as it allows far more water to pass through it before becoming spent. don't quote me but it allows something like 30,000 litres to pass through it. Thats NOT to produce 30,000 litres of pure.

you seem to have something in common with her. she doesn't try to sell you stuff you don't need. ;)
even recommended a cheaper bit of kit. I like that ;)

i just got a 4040 ro, membrane Desal®AK4040T1305.
i dunno how much it will produce having twin ro under normal tap pressure. but if its weak (which it shouldn't be) then i'll buy a booster pump for it
