for someone that is unemployed and cant get another job, £120 x 6 = £720 a week! That could get someone that is up the creek without a paddle a lifeline!

thats what i was going to say,if it was by me i wouild do it like a shot, good weeks wages there, there paying you 720 weres the rip off in that
-
I have to agree, not all people can just go and start a bussines. Thats alot of work but at the end of the day it's alot of money to keep them going.
-
well at london living costs 120 a day aint brilliant ...
plus 8-10 jobs a day ...you would be working like a nutter to get thewm done ...plus own car and own ladders ..think of petrol and continuus traffic in central london.
personaly think they having a laugh plus you would need to be well fit carrying 30ft ladders round and going up and down them.
plus safety working on 30ft ladders all day trying to rush to get 10 jobs done each day
they can keep it... ;D
-
10 jobs a day! That's some serious money coming in for the companies owner!
-
sound proffesional too with only a mobile number and aa hotmail email adress.
lol
-
Surely it would be a 2 man job if it was off ladders?? ;D
-
I think being a window cleaner makes us look down on other jobs
When i was on holiday in urkey there was a guy there talking to his in laws about a friend of his who earned £125 a day and they wereall like :o
Guys at any rate £120 a day is blooming good money and thats alot of money for a week, perminent position £2880 a month...yeh its gonna be hard work for who ever but jeeees thats good money!
Being employed and earning that money you gotta work hard. Personally i think thats good! Yes we all earn more on our own, and pul in "£500" but thats not every day, we have good days and bad days, which probably in the end levels out to around that rate.
Come on guys...dont be so snobbish!

£37,000 a year is great money for an unskilled worker even in London.
The average wage in Britain is £14,250 per year.
-
rather get the same money but use omni vac or similar from the ground? ladders are scary! :-X
-
Working that kind of heght of unsecured ladders every day, especially with some hard to reach gutters, is asking for an accident.
Horrible job when it is raining.

its not realy 37,000 a year, remember he is self employed, and has to provide own transport etc
-
You could do it for a month and spend the money on a gutter vac.
-
£720 a week a rip off ?????
North v South divide , still there ehh
-
I can't see anyone do a good job doing 8 to 10 gutters a day off of ladders.
Thats way to much work for one person in a day for that type of work off of ladders.
-
one hell of a way to get and stay fit and a nice way to get away from the wife and kids all day

Absolutely. In my current position I wouldn't touch it but if I was out of work I'd snap their hand off for it.
-
yeah i can see what alot are saying if you are unemployed etc....but its 720 for a 6 day week and also use your own car plus most gutter jobs take what 1 -2 hours to do a proper clean .,.. plus you have travel time...
and car running costs ...
still wouldnt do it... rather put the hours in at tesco...lol

if you like work and can run a cheap car and aren't frightened of hard work beats getting phone calls from everyone cancelling the window cleaner this time and if you work 50 weeks more like £45,000 p.a
would improve my home life and my bank balance could nearly build your own round on the back of it
3-4 years my debts and mortgage would be gone
then over 3 grand a month to enjoy every month without having to look for the work

I thought the inland revenue stopped this a few years ago taking people on, on a self employed basis.
-
Loads of people are saying what a rip off, but I doubt there's many people on here who earn that kind of money each week. Okay it's 6 days a week but a lot of jobs out there are 6 days a week.
My issue would be with the contractual basis, ie self employed so they can rid of you at the drop of a hat and also the ladders, I think using ladders at 30ft + is a no no as regards health and safety. However some mug will probably do it.
Simon.

True, if you take more than 33% from any single company then they must have you on the books employed with conditions like holiday pay etc.
-
just spoke to them
jobs between £60 - £150 some 2 storey and 3 storey houses
you would get 15% of job value
from £9 on £60 job
£22.50 on £150 job

More like THEY should get the 15%...........

if it was near to me I would be interested, looks like a cash in hand type deal.
I would think there will be plenty of guys willing to do it in the current climate.
-
If its self employed status
you have to pay your own
Personal tax
National insurance
Public liability Ins
road tax
vehicle insurance
So £720 a week aint going far ???
-
further than £0 or less
-
If you worked at Tescos you would pay:
Tax
National Insurance
Road Tax
Vehicle Insurance
So £700 or more is not bad at all.
-
Still a bit greedy, don't you think?
If the wages are £720 and that is 15% of the take, then the business owner is getting £4,080 per week :o :o :o :o :o
For doing what, exactly?
-
Come on guys get real!
6 days a week at 8/10 jobs a day - what a larff!
Where are these 8/10 jobs a day for 25 days = 250 a month, month after month.
You'd be dead within a month - either worn out or fallen off a ladder.
This is how these jobs work (over-generalisation I know)
Mr Polski turns up and starts at 8am. Finishes first job (3 sides of a semi) at 10 am and then on to the next and starts at 10.15. Finishes at noon and on to the next finishes at 2pm and then 4pm and now it's dark.
So that's 4 jobs. Let's say Mr. Speedski does 5 so what's his earnings? £60/70 a day in winter.
I reckon I could go on the knocker and get 2/3 jobs in a day at £40/60 a throw and be way better off!
-
Rip off if you ask me,i`d be buggered if i`d do a 60 quid job for 9 quid lol.
-
If you have your own ladders and van, insurance etc, you may just as well go round looking for grass growing out of gutters. Buy a squeegee, bucket and applicator and clean a few windows while your at it.
Paying a guy just 15% when he's using his own equipment is a joke.
I would let him keep 60% for cleaning windows, and if he can do 10 gutter jobs a day he would have no problem doing 40 houses on his own.
