Title: Griggs Direct
Post by: Londoner on November 25, 2008, 07:39:51 am
I got home last night to find a catalogue on the doormat from a "new" supplier. They are called Griggs Direct although I know who is behind it because I recognise the general layout and a lot of the pictures. They are a big wholesale supplier.

Looks to me like there a bit of squeezing out the middle man going on here

If you want to get a copy email      sales@griggsdirect.com             or phone 0800 298 0333

And no I am not on commission

Just to put things straight.

Giggs are completely seperate from Varitech although they do stock and sell mostly Varitech products.

I don't think it's well enough known but Varitech are very major suppliers to the trade. I've dealt with them for years and can't praise them highly enough.

They produce a catalogue that you can have overprinted with your own details if you are a trade customer.

This is done in all sorts of industries by the major wholesalers to the trade.

I believe that by and large Varitech is THE wholesale supplier of a lot of wfp gear.

Every VIKAN brush sold in the UK is supplied by Varitech.

Every VIKAN brush sold in the UK is supplied by Varitech.

Every Vikan Mono-Filament brush sold in the UK comes through Varitech. Vikan do however have a few select distributors (we are one) through which they sell the rest of their range.

Varitech do supply a very good service for drop-shipment retailers. It allows almost anyone to supply a complete range of WFP gear. The only other firm currently doing this is Brodex, although they do not offer the same drop-ship facility.

That might be another reason why they don't want a web shop... They already have enough retailers of their goods......

So alex you buy all your gear of them and sell on to us a little bit more expensive, any one can do it but you need a wad of cash to do it, is that how it works.

:D :D If it were that simple! If you notice our product range is very different from the Varitech product range. I think that we are also slightly cheaper  ;D

If this Griggs outfit is a separate outfit how did they get my address? The only people who send me catalogues and stuff are Varitech.

I would imagine that Varitech have sold them their customer list. Probably as a business start-up help.
