Title: Xmas holidays
Post by: Dean Aspects on November 24, 2008, 06:55:00 pm
With just over 4 weeks to Xmas have you decided how much time you are taking off over Xmas and the New Year?
I will be working upto Xmas Eve then will start back on Mon 5th January
I didnt used to take so much time off over the festive period working between Xmas and New Year for a couple of days now i always take two weeks i always feel recharged and ready to go for it again and its something to work towards

However i will be working on my HOT system, getting my new website on the web and optimised fully for all my domains.

I will also be working on other websites im currently building.

I wont be doing nothing, but i will be getting "other" work completed that needs to be done.

its really complicated to me.

I've just had a look at the calander; Christmas and New Year fall at an 'awkward time', but I'll take from 'after work the 23rd December' till 'starting back on the 5th January'.

I could do with the break, and it's not much fun working inbetween Christmas and New Year anyway.

its a bit like working weekends most people off work and in bed,so you cant start to early and if you collect a problem getting paid as they dont want to part with beer or sale money,i just go to Cyprus now to be fresh for the new year

wow i might agree with something you say stan, ill probs do the same work till 23rd but return on the 2nd

I'm more or less the same as you guys. Finish on Monday 22nd Dec and return on 5th January. Can't really see any point in working in between as a window cleaner is the last person your custie wants to see over xmas.

i normally have about 3 weeks off, what with school plays etc etc

BUT

looking at the dates, it looks like it might just be 2 weeks this time

of course if they manage to get me in for my op, then it'll be 4 weeks off

I've spent three weeks in the French/Swiss Alps.  I even climbed Mont Blanc, on top of lots of other climbs I can't remember or pronounce the names of.  We trained 'high', rested 'low', and spent a lot of time in Chamonix drinking wine and smoking Gitanes (cheap Frog cigs).

But I didn't like it; the French are an 'orrible lot.  I was even propelled out of a Chamonix bar - into the gutter - by two big Frog bouncers for singing karaoke, Geordie style.  The French have no sense of humour!

Anyway, have you considered the Gower in South Wales as an alternative?  I would if I were you.

Yeah no snow and horizontal rain at Xmas, most years!

We'll be working on Christmas Eve, having the next day off and back to work on Boxing Day.

We are contract cleaners as opposed to simply a window cleaning company; and it's usually this time of year when we wish we weren't  :'( :'( :'(

Still, we only work for a few hours each morning during the Christmas week, going into night clubs and cleaning up after those lovely student types, bliss ::)

It pays the bills though, along with two or three nice trips to warmer climes with the wife and kids  ;D 8) ;D
