Listening to the news today at Mr Darlings speech i can honestly say that apart from saving 2.5% on shopping and supplies etc it will not make a difference !!!

How will it affect you ltd boys with the drop in VAT ??

all National Insurance contributions will rise - Alcohol, tobacco and petrol duty rises to offset the 17.5% to 15% VAT cut.

great to offset the VAT decrease, we have to pay extra to run our business's :( (those that are not VAT regged that is)

Guess we all lose out.

Hold on.....if he's trying to stimulate the economy by cutting VAT how come he's ALSO taking it away with rises in fuel, f*gs and booze? How does that work out? Is he thick or something?

That to me means that the cut in VAT doesn't actually equate to more money in our pockets, so if we don't have more money how can that stimulate the economy?

there not trying to help the econermy there trying to win votes. at the end of the day they dont stand a chance in hell of winning the next election so there grabbing at straws. they made the mess but making the bank of england drop intrest rates so low that people were browing more than they shoud have. now there gonna drop taxes so when the conservats raise them again they look bad. either that or the conservativs have less £££ to play with.

all in all were doomed. my answer is let those who have over borrowed sink and us surivers sill swim! ;D
