Title: Can Dog vomit take the colour out of a carpet?
Post by: kinder clean on November 24, 2008, 05:27:25 pm
Had a call today from a custy saying her dog has been sick on her new carpet and she thinks its taken the colour out, is this possible??

I was thinking it more likely she has tried cleaning it off with some 'off the shelf supermarket product' and that may have caused the damage - Anyway she wants me to go and look and advise her!! - Put a rug over it!!  ::)

It's possibly added a colour to the carpet.  Very dependant on what the dog has been eating!

Dog sick is probably 50/50 success at best in my experience, best chances on polyprop and almost forget it on wool.

As Jim says, Stomach acid and wool means there is hardly any chance (especially on older dogs).

If I know this before hand and am busy I usually tell custy not to spend the £50 on getting me round as the will probably be wasting their money unless it'll end up with the insurers because they will tell h er to get someone round first anyway.
