I mentioned yeserday that the flame kept going out from the wind,i`ve come to the conclusion today that it keeps going out due to what ever flow i have it on on the varistream.It seems that the more flow of water i have the hotter i can have the heater without it turning off,if i want to run a normal flow of water through it i have to turn down the heat although it still gets very hot even on low setting,also does anyone recommend where abouts to set the water flow dial for peak performance.I`m sure the flow of water is the problem of the flame going out,anyone had the same thing happen.

hiya, it sounds to me like it's cutting out due to overheating.
do you not use a thermostatic mixer valve now as I reckon this would sort it out?

i set the water dial on minimum, the gas dial in the middle of the first section of 3( if that makes sence) and i have the varistream set, just past 12 oclock, analogue type. i just alter the gas setting to what heat i want.
i think if you have not got enough flow it will cut out,

set the water dial on the heater close to minimum (this alows the heater to work with a lower flow rate), and slowly adjust the heat up from minimum until you find you have problems. It sounds very much like the overheat sensor is switching off the heater,.. the sensor is set to 80 deg i think,.. so maybe you're working hotter than most ppl?

Every time I have tried to get on the above forum, it does not reconize me. I have given up now. :(

Another weird thing i`ve just noticed Nat was that if i had the gas on minimum or just above minimum i got a good hottish temp without it turning off but if i turned it up it didn`t seem to get any hotter.

That is strange!
I've got my L5, but haven't hooked it up yet (Still using my old Arazbao heater),.. so I only know what I've learned putting one in for my dad and for a friend,...
from what I've heard so far, I suspect the overheat sensor is a bit more sensitive than the one on my heater.
If its a good temp close to minimum, leave it there and save gas!!!

My current heater is more powerful, but I hardly ever turn it above its minimum heat.
