I know this isn't carpet related, but this happened to me tonight and it made me mad... I do a lot of work for a builder laying natural stone floors, and the way he works is he gets me to ring the client up and i go and measure up and tell them the quantity they need, then they get the stone they want, i supply adhesive grout etc and lay the floor and then invoice the builder, and he does nothing. The last job i did came to £2,000 anyway i was in my local tesco's tonight and i bumped into the customer and we got chatting then she said she was a bit shocked with the price for laying her floor £5,000 she said....well what could i say as this builder gives me loads of work and couldnt say anything and drop him in it...but thats being a bit greedy i think.

Par for the course. As long as you are happy with your cut then what the other side gets isn't really an issue. Its the same in fire & flood, you get passed work but the main contractor makes as much or more than you usually.

as long as your happy, whats the problem?
if someone came up to me and said, "as long as you keep your prices the same, i can fill your books for you" i'd say yes please, no advertising, why not, if i then found out that he was getting, say £2000 a day, then well done him, i'm happy and so's he, don't see the problem, and if anything, don't moan about the hand that feeds you.
nothing personal sherky, just how i see it.

Im happy with what i got dont get me wrong, its her saying to me she was shocked at the price as if i was being greedy, then she will tell her friends how expensive it was and that i did the tiling...thats my problem as she was very local to me.

surely she knew the price before she booked him, otherwise what a stupid women, don't worry bout it me young. just spend the money and have fun, youve earned it.

why do'nt you get your own work ?
seeing as you are doing all the work ?
people must know you and how good you are, it's just a matter of time before your work could take off !

Yeah your right guys, it just bugged me it was if i was to blame....I have been laying stone in my area for a few years now and have a good reputation but its the knees and back get a bit of grieve these days thats why i got into stone floor cleaning and cc cleaning....im just having an off day...
