paul; sealskinz are ok but they get nicks in very quick. it is early to be wearing gloves :) it is far colder in feb ;) get some cheap ski gloves (gore tex) from t j hughes, half price and keep you warm till you get used to it. ;)

I just buy the leather gloves from the garden centre, They hold off the water for a while but it soaks in eventually. However, at £3.99 a pair I can have several pairs on the go.

Ive got some seal skinz from our shop and think theyre great i dont wear them every day but i use them when it really cold, and its nice to reel in the hose without muck getting on your hands

i just baught 8 pairs of grip gloves, absolutely fantastic for the price, provide loads of grip on the underside for poles etc, and are high-vis on the upside, the upside is not waterproof but most of the water runs down the underside which is 100% waterproof and i intend on wearing another glove underneath that is 100% waterproof. End result... dry, warm, high-vis for safety and superb gripping hands.
By the way i got the gloves for £4 each from a local cash & carry
