Having been conned a couple of times last year...clean windows for 1st time in December and never get hold of "custy" again I've decided that this year I'm going to not accept any more new customers that can't wait until the new year for the 1st clean. I'm thinking about the cut-off point being the last week this month.
Any thoughts?

not draft up a simple agreement for 1 years sercice? only use it for x-mas cleans if you like but it means the people wanting their glass done before x-mas are happy and you are pretty much guarenteed 12 months work
mabie too much hastle but then again new customers seem hard to find.

got done as well last year from now on till new year its 20 pound min clean for newbies

I offer one-off cleans, but I charge double what the monthly cost would be, on new customers who say they want a regular cleaner, I still charge double for the 1st clean and if they cancel they are barred for life, for lying.

If it's worth it i do it , if it's not i dont . Simple

yea Ive been done up a few times in the past, also i decided this year i ain't falling for it they can wait till January, but Ive also decided for the last week the build up to Xmas is on a quite ish rest week if i get the anyone I'm gonna give them a very high price they should say no but if they go for it well i will treat the kids to a little extra

do what we do make them pay for the first 3 months
and see what happens double for 1st clean

i had some1 ask me yesterday, i said i would do it, she said, not this time as she had just moved in, but could it be done next time ( just before christmas ) i pointed out that i wouldnt be around the area again till after christmas, she said she didnt mind waiting, so i guess she wasnt a christmas clean afterall ;) ;)

I never take new customers on in december im always to busy with my regulars doing inside's or gutter cleans.

I have decided not to take on any new cleans 'just' before Christmas but then again I have not been asked to do many anyhow ....but I am looking for time off for my family and I.
Cheers
Dave.
