Can someone please help me out here. I'm getting thru EZ snap fitting like there's no tomorrow. I know it's the female connection 100%. 1000,000%. Same problem every time. They sieze up a bit........almost definitely the bearings, so i WD40 them and they seem to be fine for all of a day, then they start siezing up again and leaking and we all know how bloody annoying that is,lol....... Whats' the answer??? Grease? Vaseline? I dunno. I buy them from a well known supplier on here and i aint blaming them. Their service has always been top notch. I'm just starting to wonder if Ez snaps are fit for the purpose they're meant to be. Any help, truly appreciated. Cheers gang.

We use Gardiners EZ snap fittings and they've lasted really well, better than anything else we've tried. I can count on one hand the occasions that the outer sleeve has stuck and just need a jiggle to get it going again, never had to grease them or any other lubrication. It seems you have been unlucky or i have been lucky. I would speak to the supplier personally if i were you.
-
did you get them of eby as iv got sum crap ones off ther the prorper one have made in gemmany perinted rownd sleve
-
Ive had them go but not daily, i think theyer fantastic, what on earth are you doing to them ;D
I used to work at halfords and when bike repairs used to come in, we were always told never to use WD40 as i think its a water based product, it will do the job for a few days. I remember in the years of skateboarding, putting WD on my bearings made the wheels go seriously fast for a few days then knackered them
I think this may be the problem...using WD40 on them
They really dont need it
-
Think there are some Chinese ones about that fall apart. WD40 is not good for some applications because it tends to dissolve grease from bike chains etc.
Not water based though.
-
iv got sum proper ones that are grat on my most used polls and the uthers on less used polls if i cud turn clock back i woodent have bort them chep ones off eby
-
You have the FAKE 1`s for sure, they need to have made in germany on them and also say rectus 21 or there not the real deal. The fake 1`s last between a morning and a week if your very lucky.
-
Ok.........I don't get them from fleabay, or direct from China. I do get them from G****** Pole. It must be a naff bunch or something cos i have bought them before and yeh, that have lasted ages. But i must have gotten through 3 in the last month. Zut alore :-\ .......thanks for your input anyways........
-
Do they have print on them like i said in my last post,Gardiners sell the corrcet 1`s.
-
hi nwh id all ready ponited it out made in germany rownd the side ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeh NHW it's got the rectus 21 logo on them. Just for the record, i in no way blame the supplier,as mentioned above. Just the way it goes sometimes i guess. Even the protectaball aint got me out of this mess, lol.
-
I'm just glad i didn't say rectum21. That WAS close :o DOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH ;D
-
the word rectum is used quite a lot down here in Brighton ;D ;D ;D , But not by me ;D. I steer well clear.

same here.I have had similar experience with easi snap type fittings from various sources.None really seemed to last.I have found airline fittings much more robust and wd40 works treat on em . Cheaper and more readily available. Bit on the heavy side tho
-
my ez snap fittings last a good 6mths , but mine attach direct to pole trigger , so no dragging on floor , i have a protekta ball on the end of my hose , protects ez during winding in.

I have gone back to gardiners pro fittings much better than the ezy crap fittings.
I was using the pro fittings before the easy snap one's and found them excellent but changed to eazy snap as they connected straight to my triggers.
From day 1 i hated them and they didn't last at all.
The pro fittings are much much better and they don't break.

Can anyone else confirm this??? I might think about it Paul.......but to be honest i thought EZ snaps we're about the best you could get and after having quite a few of them as spares,i'll be loathed to spend nearly £100 on refitting pro's on all my hoses.
-
Having tried out many different alternative fittings over the years I still prefer the EZ snap fittings. The worst fittings are definitely hoselock, they really are a waste of time and money. For a couple of years I used the pro fittings but they could be very stiff to release as the fitting got older. Whilst EZ snap are not perfect, they are easy to use and are very light and compact. I do find that they are sensitive to grit, which is usually the cause of the collar jamming. I never use WD40 on them, just spray them out with water if I see dirt in there.
-
It's definitely the bearings like i said. I dabbed some vaseline on them today using a cotton bud to really get into the bearings well...............and not a drop did drip. May just have to keep a bit on board for when it happens again..............There's nothin worse that walkin around with water all down me jeans for hours. I keep gettin dodgy looks :o

Where did you get these from?
How much?
And do they do 8mm?
cheers

I believe that "WD" is silicone based.
It's not designed as a lubricant, although it's "slippy", it's a "Duck oil" designed to repel dampness.
Used on ignition leads, and similar.

they are the best, they do them in all sizes, i mean that, i will never look back at air couplers again, if they do get a bit of dirt just wash it out easly as that, all that can go wrong, is the o rings may wear in time, thats easy just put new ones on, iv stood on them hundreds of times and they are still going strong, i cant recomend them enough, the only company i know who stocks them, but a little expensive if you want them tomorrow is emprium poles,

-
but be carefull they only do sizes in imperial not metric, so be carful when buying in your size. unless it has changed from six months ago
-
jo, your video, is that a stop flow?
-
no open flow, i made the mistake not buying the closed valve coming from the pump, so lesson learned lol, but still do the job well. so if you are ordering them at least make sure one is valved especialy from the pump end to stop the flow when disconnected,
-
They look good Jo, good find, i get on well with EZ Snap but i dont suppose they wear easily
-
i nver liked the EZ Snap, i spent more time trying to release the blooming thing apart, not just the e-z snap, all the air couplers where the same problem, now i dont get any, i promise you these are the best on the market
