Likewise never stick your hand down the sides of cushions.

And even worse, in certain areas never run your hand down the bannister rail as you come downstairs as it has been known for needles to be taped to the underside of the bannister, pointing upstairs to catch your hand as it slides down the rail. :o

Tower block bannisters are particularly vunerable to this.
