hi guys is there a way of cleaning off the stains on the sills to get them white??

It depends on the type of stain. If it's just a build up of grime, then this stuff will do the trick.

A word of warning: don't get the stuff on the rubber seals between the frame and the glass. It can dissolve the rubber and then buffing things up deposits it onto the upvc. It's then a nightmare to get off. That happened to me once and lost me a good thirty minutes. 

What was worse, the householder came out to see how I was getting on and went white when she saw the black mess on her frame! I got them sorted, but I've been VERY careful ever since.

If they are upvc then green scouring pads from tescos work great.

Thats what I use, works great and no need to be too careful, It certainly wont lose ypu 30 minutes.
