There are about 60 different ways one can generate leads. Which one is your next best step really depends on what you are trying to communicate to who.  I have seen surveys of service companies in a number of industries and generally by far the number one method is word of mouth referral followed by networking. These are also my top two with leaflet drops, yellow pages, internet and promotions ranking 3,4,5 and 6.

Find a way to make your word of mouth referrals more systematic and you won't go far wrong.

Having tried the many ways as most have already described i tried one with some success that a little old guy who cuts lawns suggested

Not having been a regular visitor to my local one i had never thought of it

The church magazine or as some are known the church newsletter, it cost me £35 donation for a half page ad and the response was one of the best I have had, this was a few years back when we were still doing domestic but you may be surprised with the results. And after the first one had tried us the word of mouth was excellent.

Good luck nothing ventured nothing gained and its not like getting married as they don't make you go.

Oh and guess who still does the church windows twice yearly

Parish magazines are worth their weight in gold, for rural domestic work. Yell.com does a free listing as well.

There are plenty of free listings, just dont get sucked in to any hard sell..
