i have heard the expression ultra pure water, now i use di water as i am soft water, and others use ro for hard water areas, but i have never understood the term ultra pure, now i have alway though if your tds was 000ppm that was pure, can anyone explain ultra pure that some claim, even i would like to hear that one,
-
That would be when you drink your DI water and then pass it through your kidneys and out of the hose that is connected to your triple thick condom. Oh and its a hot wash as well ;D
-
its water that ultra clean obviously
-
so your saying its all just hot wash, ;D thats what i thought, over exaduration
-

NOooo. what I meant was it'll be warm when it comes out of your kidleys..Joking Joe ::)

;D ;D ;D
is it water measured at 0 parts per BILLION
instead of 0 parts per MILLION
which is what we use
-
isnt it something to do with waters that pure but really hard
sorry, its a football joke

nothing passes my kidney without authorizasion ;D

all joking aside i think lj thorpe has a point there, is there such a thing as ultra pure,
-
It's all about the defination of pure.
We grade ours in parts per million.
The medical world goes in parts per trillion.
Truely pure water would be 2 parts of hydrogen per one part oxygen which absolutely nothing else which is hard to achieve other than on paper.
-
so what would we benifit from no parts per trilloin, no spotting ever again, but would it be more agressive to pvc frames, or does it get to the stage where it becomes more acid like, is there a limit to how far we go with purity of the water
-
ok heres another question, we use resin to get water down to 000ppm what do hospitals
use to get there water down to parts per trillion???
-
nuclear grade resin
only really used in research and electronic engineering.
hydrolysis will produce very pure water as well - normally measured in micro-siemens ( a measure of electrical conductivity)
-
I think its just a marketing ploy
-
and would this resin be available to us or just the private sector
-
I think its just a marketing ploy
thats what i thought paul, but aparently it is not, there really is ultra pure water
-
why bother with resin, just use nuclear physics and join 2 atoms of one with 1 atom of the other voila instant abso******lutely pure as pure can be ---------water.
But--------------------------------it's window cleaning----------and
0.000 parts per million does the job so why------------------spoil my bacardi & coke.
Cheers . All the best

if pure water does the job then why are folk turning to hot water, see my point, if we can tune up a car to go that bit faster, is it possible to do the same with pure water, using an upgrades resin,
-

yes there has to be, bit I am not going to be boiling all my water then filtering it after every day, ro and di is fine for me 000 on meters is good enough for me ;D
-

hot water breaks down dirt quicker, this is the only benifit, it may also dry 10 seconds faster aswell
-
nuclear grade resin is available
look on gapswater
about 300 I think for a 50kg bag.

any idea how long it lasts ??????????????????????????????????
-
doesn't last that long
about the same as normal resin I think
not worth buying for us I'm afraid but I was asked

do you know that for a fact Alan ? or did they (the supplier) tell you this ?
-
When I worked in Engineering the techs used nuclear resin and since starting wc'ing I contacted the techs I knew and asked them.

Fair comment you poser :P

alan is right, heres the stuff, wonder if this is better than what we use, or would it clean better, surley it must do, as it is almost double the price,
Nuclear grade mixed bed DI resin cartridges are used in the production of ultra-pure water, ensuring that the water treated is of the highest purity possible.

That is Purolite brand which is the same spec as Tulsion MB-115 which is a nuclear grade resin

if its the same quality why is it so cheap compared to the others?

It's the most expensive to buy direct from the manufacturer but my overheads are less than other suppliers so hence the savings get passed onto the customer.

I wouldn't have thought that going to better than 0 ppm would have made that much difference. It certainly wouldn't affect the pH.
It's a generally understood rule that 10 deg C increase in temperature makes chemical reactions go twice as fast. Presumably that goes for dissolving as well.
Using warm/hot water may well speed up the cleaning process that we use to clean glass. It won't make any appreciable difference to the drying time since it will very quickly cool down to ambient.

Ultra pure water 000 ppb or ppt can only be stored in glass containers it has a tendency to disolve every thing else. So first thing you'll notice is you storage tank has disappeared then your baffeled tank then your hoses then your brush, after that you'll run out of customers as their window frames would be vanishing.
Simon.

I think that it might be safer to store it in containers made from depleted uranium. This stuff is quite safe to have around.
I remember a couple of years ago that our beloved government issued two statements in the same week.
One was saying that depleted uranium was harmless and safe to release into the (Croatian) environment. Another one warned against taking vitamin tablets.
