Hi Dml, (Daz)

Sorry but I think this was kind of rushed and not explained to you properly.

If you have porchased your domain from 123-reg then you will find it easier if they host your site as well.

Its fine that you have purchased a domain name or two. But what about the deals on hosting?

Thats where your website will be stored, on their server. Some hosting packages are better than others. Some servers are better than others and band width all matter.

Now lets say for example you found a better hosting package with www.fasthosts.co.uk and designed your website on their server and purchased a hosting package. You will have to alter your DNS record to point to www.fasthosts.co.uk on the server where your domain name was purchased. This will then relocate people to your website where it is hosted...with another company. This makes it a little confusing to keep rtrack of everything, hosting, domain name renewal etc

You cannot transfer certain domains names to other companies and some are locked for 30 - 60 - 90 days there is also an unlocking / admin fee for this.

Most have in the hsoting packages now a built in website wizard so you can build your website yourself, You do not need to pay over priced £350 or more in some cases. And make sure you go directly to a 123-reg or fasthosts or whoever you decide and host it directly.. as companies charge for setting up hosting and take there cut... startups so someone designs it for you.. but if you wish then by all means go down that route.
They will give you all the sales blurb, oh we will do SEO Search Engine Optimisation blah blah.

Just do some rearch on key words etc. Like if you are in Brighton, and you are a window cleaner that will be one of your SEO terms Window Cleaner Brighton or Window Cleaning Brighton. Include this in your Text and in your Tags, Meta Tags... you will see where to place these in the wizard.

You also do not need to pay to be on the front page of Google, you can get there with the right SEO Terms. And can be done in Under 6 weeks easily

Of course if you know a bit more you can always use FTP File Transfer Protacol and there are lots of free programs to do this.

I hope this helps.

ovh.co.uk are giving away free .co.uk domains 1 per day per customer. ive signed up 3 in the last 3 days.. and they are for a year - once i get my website fully up and running with site stats i will be able to tell which domains are worth keeping and which ones i can ditch.

Hi Chris,

Even with the online stats so you can tell who , what, where has visited and how many times..

Are you aware lets say out of the 3 domain names you have, I take it each one will have a website attached. Depending on the SEO you have added in you may get incorrect results.

By that I do not mean the stats are wrong, if your SEO is not up to scratch on all 3 domains then the statistics are useless.
