found this on flee bay 200272648407 could it would in the van with a tranformer to heat the water up , would it flatten the battery?
it would take up far less room,

Just get an L5 Steve it couldn`t be any easier to setup mate.

Couldn't find it on ebay but generally the high amperage needed to heat water entails a very short amount of battery usage at 12 volts.

L5 needs hose from DI to heater and then from heater to hosereel,2 batterys and a gas bottle and there you go before you know it you`ll be cracking windows al over town lol. ;D ;D ;D

I looked at electric units too, but the power these things need to run makes them impractical in a vehcle.
You would need several batteries and would neeed to drive the vehicle constantly for long distances (to recharge them) or link them up to your domestic supply (at home) to recharge them.
Over the medium/long term electric doesnt make a lot of sense - you need to carry the weight of those batteries constantly which will burn more diesel/petrol.
Gas is light and has an excellent calorific conversion rate.
Electric is feasible and indeed possible.....it just doesnt make economical sense.

If you're worried about having gas in the van, and you travel a few miles between jobs, you could fit a calorifier tank running from the engine's coolant system. This gives a surprising amount of hoot water I'm told.
The L5 is great though. Fitted my dad's one on Saturday,... helping a friend fit one tomorrow, and eventually I might even get chance to fit my own one!
