is there a right way to fit in a baffled tank 350l flat the hole in middle going long ways or across the van if you know what i mean ::) or doesnt it matter

The hole in the middle is the baffle, in theory you want the tank with the baffle across the van to redeuce the sloshing of the water.
Get it?

No problem

i've got a 500 ltr flat tank, the baffle goes length ways in mine ,so when i corner
the baffles stop water sloshing side ways.
tried the other way , and i find this way better.

yep mine does that , but i feel this is safer than the opposite happening, whilst cornering. ;)

Think of which way they are in petrol tankers and why.
-
a petrol tanker carries alot more liquid than we do

Forget the quantity, stop and think logically, are you always moving forward and breaking or do you drive sideways all the time.
No forward baffles also affects your braking ability.
Do your own tests with an open bucket of water, first of all baffle it your way of thinking and then baffle it the correct way, see how much water you loose from both tests.
I drove a tanker with a mere 3,000 ltrs and the baffles still went the same way as a larger tanker, in the yard we had a 1,000ltr tanker
And guess which way the baffles went.
Instead of taking my word for it, ask your insurance company, or phone up a tank manufacturer and ask them.

maybe so, but i think it depends on the dimensions of your tank and what why you have your tank positioned in the first place. Id expect a petrol tanker to have lots of baffles running down from back to front for obvious reasons... rather than side to side.
what im saying is i have mine running the width way as more water will move further when i corner than when i brake. as my tank is wider (cornering) than it is depth (braking).

I give up ::)

well i turned tank round today so will find out tomorrow if i stay on all wheels or not around the corners ;)
ps only have a robin reliant

in my last van i had an upright tank, this was fitted across van ,so baffles stopped side to side motion.
no one i know installs upright tanks the other way, or do they? ???
so as said, i would think it depends on tank dimensions.
i presently have a 500 ltr flat tank , this is wider with baffles running sideways, and shorter lengh ways ,so water has less distance to travel going forward.
