Title: The Show
Post by: mark_roberts on March 01, 2005, 09:08:24 pm
Just back from the show.

To be honest it was my first time and i was a little disappointed.  A bit smaller than I imagined and only CFR had their machines working for demos.  Due to this I was disappointed not to have seen others in action.

From what I heard a few suppliers stayed away due to Carpex being a success and more targeted for carpet cleaners.

Met a few old and new faces which was good but I reckon the 31st will be better by far, provided the machines can be switched on!

Mark

PS. the CFR wand has already gone.  The prizes tomorrow are the spotter and a few other bits.

Mark,

Saw you on the CFR stand.  Was going to say hi, but you seemed 'engrossed' with Karls wife at the time.   ;)  Only in  conversation of course.

Regards.

Yeah I was reading the report from Eric Brown at the CFR stand and agree the new models look and seem impressive as does the new wand.

Only thing about them is i cant seem to establish just how more effective the 750psi model would be over the 500psi model.  They tell me it will clean better but what does that mean in real life???  You can also have the 500psi with two vacs.

I noticed the cowgirls but did you notice the rep with the really short black skirt.  Looked more like a hooker.

Did notice the one with black skirt.......nice legs but a face like a spanked arse  :P
I felt it my duty to point out to the two girls in white T shirts handing out fineline wipes, the irony of have 'wipe it off' across their chests.............they saw the funny side and i never got a slap ::)
Did also notice some carpet cleaning stuff  ;D

The CFR looks good, clean a 4 bed house without refilling.......maybe!
This could be my next belated Chrisie pres to myself, might have a closer look, seriously thinking about going south to have a closer look, very impressed so far.
Have been reading previous posts about this machine on here and other boards and not seen any negatives from owners.

The cow girls looked like they might need feeding :D

Title: Show Parking

Did you get stung for the £6 parking charge at the show? If you did, send your parking ticket and your Cleaning show entry badge to the address below for a refund.

Or to avoid the charge in the first place, obtain a red car park ticket on entry (or exit) from the show. The times I arrived had someone standing at the entrance asking everyone if they required a ticket.

Safe and happy parking :)

I asked at the carpark kiosk before I went in if there was any charge and they said no.

Then a nice lady at the entrance gave me free parking red ticket.

Alan, you really must pay attention, not parking charges ;D

Yep That's right, I've won.................. A small box of Host spotting stuff/thingamy/whotsit.  The best thing is I also bought an Envirodri machine and I had to carry my complimentary box of their cleaning compound back to my van too. My right arm is now 3"/7.5cm longer than my left :'(

Safe and happy prizegiving :)

Went to the show yesterday, very impressed with it all.

Firstly it was good to meet Steve Gunn, Nick and others at the Solution stand.  Eclipse looks like a mean piece of kit and I can now understand why Steve bought a ramp for his van when he got his, could do with a couple of extra lift points for lugging it around.

CFR Handtool - got to get one of those, where's the cheapest place for them, are Amtech sole distributors? Wand looks good too but very expensive.

Had a good chat with John at Hydramaster and liked the lay out of the his van, racking is spot on.

All in all I had a good day, got a better idea of what's available, picked up lots of info on carpets, windows and contract cleaning, bought a few bits and pieces and had half a boot full of freebies and brochures to test out and read through.  Got home just before the snow started to come down.  Didn't win anything, is there a list of winners anywhere?

Hi Guys,

Well I'm home at last  :) Emma and myself have gone straight to bed as the past 3 days have been so manic and our feet are killing us!!!

The Solutions stand where we both helped out had a amazing attendance, It was non stop :o I dont envy Nicks task of following up the hundreds of enquiries and shipping all the Eclipse machines sold.

I was lucky enought to meet many chaps from the forum and put more names to faces, both Len and Kevin joined us all for a meal and a few drinks on Tuesday night In Henley which was a really good night out.
Working alongside Gunther, Maria, Steve, Ian, Bill, Tim and of course Nick was a real pleasure and hopefully will see them all again in the near future ;D

Paul

Hi Guys

Impossible to run the machine on the stand simply to many people for it too be safe, We would have been asking for trouble running more electric cable across the stand, the machine will be "live and in use at Milton Keynes, if I have any left.

Thanks to all who attended the stand, and to those who helped run it, my apologies if I was unable to talk to you personally  if you came to the stand, it was none stop busy.

Looking forward to the next event.

Thanks again

Best regards Nick
