i am sure it has been mentioned already in one of the diy fishing pole posts but i cant be arsed to trawl thru it all again sorry :)
so matt ,gazza or tosh
what length of pole do i need to buy to end up with one long enough for 3 storey work?

I've an 11mtr CF fishing pole,.. it makes a pole with 6 sections and a 30' usable length.

14.5m pole would be far better but 12.5m will do i fine 16m will give you more options.
