I got one of these the other week, dead cheap for a stainless sprayer but no guage and the trigger arrangement I don't like at all.

Iv'e just got two of these Arrived yesterday.  ebay item no 220275994059

£42 for the pair delivered.

They seem really good, and at that price you really can't go far wrong.

Normally I prefer plastic ones, but all the ones I have seen have been moulded in two halfs then joined forming a seem. It's this seem that I find normally bursts after a while.

Mike is your Hudson one moulded this way or is it one peice. I will be interested to know how well it lasts the test of time.

Looks like the GLORIA will be out on the big jobs only now.

How long is the stroke on these Hudsons.

I find on the cheaper units the pumping stroke is so short - not good for us oldies. :)

Nevil

How do you find it ???

On my shoping list on e of those :)

l like it. seems very robust. Can't compare it to really top end sprayers as I've never had one.

Joe
If I had to find a fault, I would like the stroke to be longer, making it quicker to pressurize.

Having said that I find on some of the plastic ones I've had a lot of air bypasses the piston while pumping, due to poor piston seals. Not on this one.

no pressure relief on it but I prefer that anyway. It's very early days. Will keep you informed.

On the box it came in it says five year limited gauruntee. But only valid in the US and Canada.

But even still it must be made to last.

"the trigger arrangement I don't like at all."  ;D
Did you check your finger Mike?
After few times I`v learned to keep my finger at the top of the trigger.
For £25 its well decent.

I bought a a stainless hudson as in the pic a few years ago, I thought it was dreadful, no proper tip, spray pattern was not at all uniform. The plastic ones are good though.

For a cheap sprayer look for a Marolex (plastic) top quaility and only around £40

look here:  http://www.garden-sprayers.com/

Buy one of these then tell me what you think of the hudson ;)

I read reams of the safety instructions as only the yanks do best, like do not open fully presurized with your head in the way etc etc, thought fair enough, then proceeded to loose the crease of my palm in the trigger mechanism. ::)

Although the piston has a short stroke I think it pumps up quicky than my orange plastic one from ashbys, name escapes me. Got the big daddy one for big jobs.
