if i was to approach a college to make a promotional video for me, which department teacher would i be asking for, business studies, media studies, art department, advertising, etc.....
a free video made for me in return for a few carpets cleaned is what i'm thinking. the kids get there teeth into an interesting project and the school/college gets some! carpets cleaned. filmed edited and put on disc.
does this sound far fetched? has anyone tried this?
any feed back would be interesting and taken on board.
ps.. its just an idea. a promotional dvd might do well in the commercial sector, something i'm struggling to get into at the moment,

You are looking at two different things here. First a business proposition with the college, so this would have to be with the principal. Secondly an artistic/educational project which would normally be with the media department.
As a matter of courtesy, I would approach the principals office first, especially as they may already have a formal contract with a cleaning contractor.

principal could probably answer all my questions and if i get a green light put me in touch with the teacher involved in that dept.

Could try liverpool uni as the do media i think and am sure some of the students would be willing to do something like that for a small fee. :)
