Another truck mount on ebay 320316425200.
-
Basically same as my Chemspec Avenger.
18hp v-twin Briggs & stratton petrol engine.
Probably 1000psi pump.
Good entry into tuck mounting.
If no one else bids its a massive bargain.
-
How many hours an a truckmount do before it is beyond repair or uneconomical to repair.
We all have an idea about cars, but truckmounts ?
-
the amount of money you can make with a trucky, why not just buy a new one, i did and ihaven't even got the client base you guys have got.
mark shannon has done just that, i'm confident he won't regret it. and he'll wonder why he never did it years ago.
he who dares guys,

Ian, mine had 2600+a bit and some said thats highish, but if its been looked after, like a car, it will be ok
Derek, if I had have been younger would perhaps have gone for new - but it suited my pocket at the time.
-
There are people on here good with mechanical stuff and know a good TM bargain. But I wouldn't even know how I'd get it home, or if they started it up whether it sounded right or not.
Seeing one that comes with a van and out on a job might be OK but not one stuck in a garage for six months.
-
Mike
Same as when you buying a car,or van, 2nd hand and you know nowt about them - take a friend!
To get one home - that one on ebay is not in a van - will need a fork lift truck to get it up off the ground and into "your" van.
I was fortunate, bought mine of Dave Atkins (Mr Dvae on here) and it was stored 20' in the air at his brother in laws business and he had the fork lift truck.

Joe
That was handy ;D

thats northing 5400 hours on mine and still pulling like a train theres a one in the us with over 20,000 hours on it and still going strong

Thats a fair few hours Susan.
Cheered me up - mines only a youngster then!
-
susan is yours a watercooled machine?
I'd give an aircooled 18hp BS engine 2500 hrs. before I'd start geting worried. over 3000hrs and I'd be thinking of changing.
-
this machines with under 1500hrs is worth £950 over 2000hrs, £850.
with tanks, hose reel and 100ft of vac & solution line £1300-£1600.
-
Ours has done 695 hours, best investment we have made for a long time. ;)

Mine has done 6130 hrs but it is water cooled and well serviced.
The only major fault that I have had Is that I had to replace one con rod ( big end seized ) because of the oil pump drive cog sheared.
All other parts no problems at all.

It doesnt exactly give a lot of information ::) and it certainly looks 7yrs old. But, if there isnt many bidders then it could certainly be a bargain.
-
Go on Kev 'grab yurself a bargin' ;D
-
doesn't say what it comes with, why he's getting rid, how many hours is low. if he's not putting the effort into selling it then i'd steer well clear. but on the other hand if thats how he sells stuff then no wonder he's not got many hours on it in the first place. might be a bargain after all.
OMG, i'm argueing with myself, i really have gone menkal.

LOL. I was going to invest in one a couple of months ago, but with all this credit crunch/recession/scare the living crap out of evryone talk, I've decided to wait a bit longer and see what happens :-\
-
He has not really sold the machine to the e bay watchers no real imfo so wont be suprised if it does not fetch much money..
-
And another one 260306782395
The decription seems to say it's for the whole machine but the heading says heat ex.
Looking at the email address on the description and the location it appears to be from Woodbridge. I guess it's a traded in one.
Anyway I have one of these and it works a treat for me. somebody's going to get a bargain.

Nevil
Do you find it reliable? heard mixed reviews of the 4.o but at that sort of money got to be a goer.

In between trashing my custy's property, when I am actualy doing some work 8) I find the 4.0 to be a fantastic machine. Some of the control systems are primative when comparing it to a more modern machine but this does not effect the performance. It has the 45 blower so can't be compared to the 3.2.
I did slap a Kohler engine in mine which I happen to rate higher than B&S. But I am lead to believe that the briggs will go on for years if the servicing is done.
I saw that somebody else posted that they had heard bad things about the 4.0, somebody whoes opinion I value highly. But my experience of it has been very positive and I would recomend it to anyone. I also am not the quickest to sing the praises of suppliers, but HM are absolutly first class to deal with. And they are near me.

;D
Couldn't resist. ;D

I'm thinking of taking up surfing so a 4.0 might be just the job for the travel expenses 8)

I was watching the surfers in newquay last week while working in a hotel along the shore. Those guys are mental. Well acually I used to dable in surfing myself,so maybe I was/am slightly mental. When I lost my hair I couldn't conform to the strict cool stereotype that goes with that whole scene. 8)

Regarding the life span of a B&S air cooled engine.........i have ran them with over 8000 hours & know of some that have done between 10,000 - 16,000 and still going strong. I would have NO worries of any B&S engine that has done as little as 2500 -3500. To many people under rate what the air cooled engines can do. Of course all engines have bad ones & good ones. The B&S engine is by FAR the most common engine used in smaller truckmounts. Therefore we hear more about them going wrong than we do other engines in particular water cooled. I only know of a 3 truckmounts that have Honda air cooled engines in them yet and 2 of them had to have engines replaced at abround 2500 - 3000.
You will get that truckmount on the van without the use of a forklift truck. We have done it many times with 2 & 3 men.
Richie.

Not exactly 'selling' it are they.
Any body know what happened to that big setup that was going for about 17k up near you Jo? The owner was going back onto ambulance or para maedic or similar, now that was a BIG settup.

Hi
The Spitfire 4.0 on ebay hasn't got a waste tank, so the new owner will have to get one fabricated or buy one off hydramaster & i cant see that its a stock item.

That big unit near Joe sold for 14.5K !.
-
Not quite what he wanted but if you are looking to set up a business locally the phone will ring tomorrow I suppose.

Hi Guys
I am the person who bought the Chemspec Avenger 210. I paid 3750 quid which included the mecedes sprinter van. The machine has only been used 340 hours and works fine. I contacted Chemspec and they sent me a full operators manual F.O.C. Had it serviced and afew valves changed 300 quid...and it now works perfectly. As for the van ...well a full days cleaning and looks as good as new. I think i got a bargain.
-
post some piccies for us monty, before and after.
good luck

I was holding my breath when I read your post ;D
I'm so glad it's turned out a bargin with a bit of fettling.
So all in all for just over 4k u got a TM and a van, not bad, it did look a shed though. ;D
-
spent a full day on empying the van and cleaning inside. I never new that you could grow tea bags. Threw away almost all the chemicals that was in the van as all looked dodgy.
Could beleave the state of the van inside. I have never seen a towel just disintigrate in your hands before either.
All in all well worth the effort. Drives perfectly...not a muermer on the engine. Perhaps the body could do thith a respray before I get it sign written.
As for the truck mount.... works perfect... came complete with upholstery cleaning tool. stair cleaning tool and of course twin jet carpet cleaning wand and 100 mtr suction hose and pressure hose, all needed a clean and jets unblocking but all work fine .
Earned its money back already... well happy with it.

Sounds like you got yourself a decent buy there :)
Any picies please ???
