Title: medicine stain

Any ideas on removing medicine stains?  Grey wool carpet with antibiotic medicine stain which has turned bright yellow.  The client has used 1001.

I have No. 3, No. 5, B144 & Prochems Coffee/Tea stain remover, but no acid rinse ???

It's an urgent job so not much time to call out for backup chems.

Cheryl,

It's the colourings in these products which cause problems so try exracting first to get rid of 1001, than go through your range, RX type products might be worth a try.

Bear in mind that this stain may be permanent.

I find dabbing a little spotter on a white towell and then gently rubbing the stain is a good idea as it shows whether the die is likely to move.

If you want to acid rinse Prochem coffee stain remover is acidic and I would suggest dilute 10:1 as it is a more concentrated solution than normal acid rinse.

I cannot understand why the medicine mfrs put food colour in when the child is likely to sick it up again. Calpol has a red colour that is permanent, I have come across it several times.
