I have a water softener and needs regenerating every few fills with salt crystals,I have been doing this twice a week but learned recently that this is not enough as I fill 500 litres a day and my TDS is in the 300's,when I do this I leave to run for about 10-15 minutes on a steady flow, not slow nor fast but how do I know when the regenerating is complete,I do not want to run the risk of salt entering my 4040 when I reconnect the fittings back to my membrane as this would damage it,any thoughts from the pros out there ;)

Keep rinsing through until the water TDS coming out of the softener bottle is the same as the water going in.
(If there's salt in the water, It'll read right up and off the scale, and gradually come back down as it gets rinsed through)
