Well clearly he could not afford a pole of the lengthrequired! ::) Only a 30 footer so not over expensive.. Cowbow... in my opinion as I thought WFP was so no ladders were needed to be used.
But made me chuckle ;D

Dear me. Chill out. ::)
Yes he's doing it the hard way.
But he's hardly "giving us a bad name". ::)
Why would the public be so horrified, when they've seen people up ladders for hundreds of years?
-
kinda defeating the obect of the water fed pole there lol

Ok i agree that it is dangerous , over stretching , and the angle of the ladder on a lawn !
But i myself use an 18 foot from 1ST story soffits to get to velux windows , madness i hear you say , but i use the pole one handed , the other one on the ladder of course , and the ladder is footed against decking posts , like on bannisters , not the spindles !
I do 5 houses like this , the thing is , i can reach them with my 45 foot facelift , but choose not to because its a pain in the arse at that angle !

I've got some which I mentioned when I got my new pole the other week.
20+ft almost horizontal above garages with sloping roofs.
To be honest it would be easier to put a small ladder up the side of the garage and use a 12ft pole from there.
If I carried a ladder I'd do it.
-
I`ve seen it and heard about it more, you would be surprised how many WC`s do that cos they won`t buy a longer pole.
-
Right on Sqeaky , it does annoy me how lots become anti ladder as soon as they get wfp , im not a big fan of them , but i use them safely so no probs , i always used them before wfp , and i will continue to use them as it suits .
Stop being a bunch of FANNYS ! ;D ;D ;D

Its not the fact hes on a ladder that I'm calling him a cowboy - its his technique with the brush.
With the amount of pressure hes using there's no way he removing insect poo, or stuborn marks, or getting in the corners ;D
Thats why he's a YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

OK. Challenge accepted. :) . I wouldn't do what that guy is doing. The only time I've done anything vaguely like that is to stand a few rungs up on a stepladder to bridge over a flat roof. This is usually because the boundary is too close to step back and obtain an angle with which I can work. The alternative would be to get my ordinary ladder off the van and climb onto the flat roof to do it. I have been up there before and don't feel comfortable with it due to the roof's age in some cases. The stepladder method is the lesser of the evils IMO.
