Come off it. I walk away from a window knowing that its spotless clean. If I thought it wasnt id pack it in and take up my other job full time for alot less money, more mither and more hours.

i agree trad by miles (customer prospective )
i've done both and after finishing wfp earlier in the year have picked up lots more work
they ask how i do it i say trad they sigh a sigh of relief and i seem to be able to pick up higher prices than when i was wfp
clients happy with the job they pay if their not happy they cancel
since going back trad mostly with a telescopic pole  everyone who i service that i used to do wfp has paid me more and said that they were on the verge of cancelling if i continued wfp they are now all happy so everybody wins
in my opinion no amount of marketing literature how ever good can change the clients mind
they like and will pay for trad everyday because they understand the method even if we know wfp can and will eventually do the job faster and safer it has its own drawbacks but thats for another day and topic

This is my view only but Council estate custies seem to be a lot more wary of WFP and would rather see you go up a ladder for their hard earned fiver or so, whereas people from more upmarket estates prefer the more upto date technology because `My friends window cleaner uses pure water, why dont you?`(yes the custie really did say that!)and they will pay accordingly for the service so who am I to judge- Customer is king after all ;D

Why use a out of date tool that KILLS yes KILLS many window cleaners each year!!!! its time we got theses Ladder Monkey out of are industry for good there giving us a bad name! Pop crackle pop fizzle whoosh!!!!!!! I think that should do it  ;) ;D  ;D

Fiver? Thats the problem not trad v WFP. My council houses are £12. Mind you, they arent owned by the council anymore. The ones that are still owned by the council are full of assylum seekers and the unwashed.

You do get this "my window cleaner does the windows the new way" snobbery and I have customers phone up and ask to make sure before they get me to come round and give them a quote

yet another daft topic, i use both, wfp suits most my work but for certain jobs only a ladder will get good results and how do you wfp only men get on with high internal windows with deep sills as i have tried all sorts of poles and adapters but find the ladder best.

ladders are not banned and i do work for factories universities and local authorities true if a cherrypiker can be used we use them but some buildings there is no way to get access equipment to windows ie in a staircase, the use of ladders is restricted and measures to secure ladders are needed but they are not banned,

Some good responses here, bt, ladders are not banned as Trevor says.

For example we just did build clean using c/picker but because of ground works was unable to clean 2 windows, these have now been done using ladders. It could not warrant having another c/picker in for these, &, that is exactly what h&s states. So everybod happy.

But, ps i hate build cleans, but, got to do something.

Gary

Hallo to Poleman & Dean, me being a 'Stokey' to.

i think wfp is quicker upstairs... as you can flick from window to window without ladders,...... not sure about downstairs., as sometimes i think i can ... or could have done some quicker.... doing them trad.

but overall on a house .. wfp is the quickest... and the best i think... because leaving frames dirty is no longer an option.... so the whole thing looks better , and for the normal intelligent customer , its got to be good.

but there is always the silly stupid punter who cant see that the frames and doors are gleaming.... all they see is water on the glass....and its usually the ones who pay the least who whine.
