Just googled this for you.

Propane (red and green cylinders) has a lower boiling point than butane (blue cylinders) and is stored at a higher pressure so it is more suited for storage outside. Butane’s boiling point (conversion from liquid to gas) is around 0˚C so in colder conditions around this temperature it will not work.

If i goto my local garage and buy propane bottel, it's cheaper than going to B&Q and buying Calor Gas bottel. All you need is a propane bottel does'nt have to be Calor

Propane is the one you want for all year use outside. I believe Macgas does not charge a deposit for the bottles, and the bigger the bottle the cheaper the gas.
