Its almost impossible for any smaller firms to be able to afford the thousands rent charged.
Its a general cleaning show with plenty of floor polishers and pressure washer/vacs etc but not much for us. But if you dont go you may miss out on the best new product/latest must have.
Its a good time to chat - if you can find/ recognise anyone. In some ways the FWC is better targeted to our needs. But I aint missed one yet- its tax deductable ;)

I'll probably go. Might do what I did at the last one and use it as a half way stop point to visit family up north.

Entry and Parking all free

where is it
-
where is it
NEC - Birmingham area.
I know what you mean. I really had to scour the website to find the location.
-
were gooing ;D
be good to meet everybody
-
Shame the F.W.C still don't know what they are talking about.
I listened in on one talk they gave at Coventry and the guy wouldn't answer a straight question with a straight answer and he also claimed WFP could NOT remove bird dirt.......
Might go to the Blackpool show to see the smaller outfits but not for the FWC seminars..

It's fairly common knowledge on this forum that I have slanty-eyes and a Geordie accent, so when I last went to Birmingham NEC I was forever getting stopped and asked, 'Are you Tosh?'.
It was a bit unerrving, 'cos I don't always remember who and when I've wound someone up, and even Terry Burrows (Guiness Book of Records entrant from World's Fastest Window Cleaner and black-belt karate expert), was after giving me a kicking after I took the mick out of his haircut on this forum
I think I remarked after seeing his picture that I had hair just the same as his; just not on my head.
I thought the show was okay, but the highlight for me was meeting up with a bunch of guys from this forum and having a few beers after the show.
-
it will be a good one i think, plenty of new exibiters attending and plenty of new products, including a few of our own that will be launched at the show in 2009.
im up for a beer tosh after the show. come and say hello

Is it realy worth paying £7000 - £10,000 as an exhibitor for just a fairly small stand?
Would any of you pay that?
It means that sales of approxamatly £35,000 - £50,000 need to taken at the show just to not loose money
-
You can visit The Cleaning Show free of Charge, parking at the NEC is also free of charge, simply log on to www.cleaningshow.co.uk for free tickets.

A small stand at The Cleaning Show costs as little as £1000, medium stands £2400, why exhibit? because over 12,000 people visit the show all potential buyers.

its a price you have to pay to keep in contention with suppliers such as the likes of the dark side.
if the products are good only time will tell

A small stand at The Cleaning Show costs as little as £1000, medium stands £2400
With a stand for £1000 you get 2 metres x 2 metres About enoth to put one person with two poles or a trolley ;D
For £2400.00 you get 5 metres x 2 metres = space for 2 trolleys a pole one demonstrator and one customer ;D ;D
one well known wfp supplier was spending £60,000 just on the spaace then on top of that they had the setup display, staff, hotels etc.
Any stand that costs under £5000.00 isnt worth having as you wouldnt even get noticed!

Well I'm definitely going on the 10th and 11th......
Who else has arranged to go......?
Regards
Mr H
-
Me and the boss, now where did I put that piccy of you and your yellow van :)
-
I will be there Mr H but can't imagine why you would want to attend for 2 days. I went in 2007 and saw everything in about 3 hours. Ironics, Unger, Tucker poles and Scott Young were just a few of the stands that I can remember that were there.

Going for 2 days due to the distance involved. Leave early Wed morning get up there go in and meet people and chat...... Then off for some lunch....... Then on to the second stall..... meet some more people and chat..... so I might get the first 2 rows done on the first day..... Then off for a nice curry in the evening and a couple or 3 beverages...... Then try and finish off the show on day 2 and drive home that afternoon.........
I always go round a show at least three times and each time a different way so you see the stall from a different angle and you will often discover something you missed.......

Certainly sounds more interesting than looking at work tools, being with tools from work for that matter! ;D
We have our Chesptow xmas drink every year, and we generally frown on anyone "talking shop".
Why I suggested I might drive up to B'ham to talk to a few randoms I don't know.
That's all it would be, as I've no interest in looking at flashy new squeegees and transfer pumps or what-have-you. ::)
