i really dont understand why people bother to go into business to earn less than they would on minimum wage, they should be dealt with accordingly, nigel will last about 2 months

35 bucks for a suite, is this a record?!  Lowest I've seen round here is 45.

Can anyone beat that?  Who could possibly knock Nigel off top spot (or bottom spot)?

Keep your eyes peeled chaps :)

Incidentally, one cleaner just down the road from me has a Yell.com enhanced listing and he's advertising bargain basement prices.

www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?ssm=0&scrambleSeed=41699983&keywords=carpet+cleaner&companyName=&location=corby&x=0&y=0&M=0

On a side note, I'm very tempted to give AB Cleaning a call and ask them to eliminate my neighbour's dog that keeps barking  ;D

Mark I think you have posted that before but I was working in the far north of teh empire today Norton in Doncaster near Wakefield and while I was waiting for the custy to come off the phone to pay me I had a quick squiny in the local rag and it was full of them.

I'd love the NCCA to get organised and sort a proficient system out so professional cleaning would be well documented.

What I don't understand is say they show a suite a handtool and hardly touch it then present a bill, people must be just accepting that's the best that can be done and cough up.

Or do they say that's a poope job on yer way? :-\

I just love it when it says "all work guaranteed" lol

Oh you could have a lot of fun trying to work out what is meant by that.

Guaranteed to be bad, perhaps?

And how does one go about claiming on the guarantee?

The leaflet above does say all room sizes a maximum of 100sq ft, so that price rockets once he is in the door, maybe not as daft as it looks!

i really don't understand why you think your competing against his prices, if you snap out of that mentality and put a price on your own performance then he's not in your league. like ive said in previous posts, rolls royce don't poop them selves when a new scoda is launched.

I used to work for a company like this 9 years ago.  Its all about add ons.  Poor quality BUT 90% of those people who get you in are council estates where its cheap carpet but very dirty.  Suites you would stick to if you sat on it.

Long may he continue I say hes welcome to the crap jobs.

If rooms over 100 Sq ft are extra, a small 15 x 12 lounge works out to £25.
Working on this principal i bet a whole small 4 bedroom house works out to £180.

I'm sure their booked over the phone and the surprise of the increase comes later.
I've worked for 2 outfits like this, and with extra sales on top usually banked
£1200 - £1800 a week for them.
If your young enough and fit enough, you can make a lot of money like this, but you will
wear out quickly.
The small price advertised is to get them in the door. Once in a good salesman will invariably
raise the price.
Before getting wise, my best result some 12 years ago, was a lounge booked for £23.50
left with 8 seperate cheques totalling £395, not due to my good salesmanship, but the fact
she loved the results and kept asking "can you do this while your here". recieved several referalls
also.

Theres a company in our area, with extremely cheap prices.2 week half price sale.Eg bathroom 12.00.But if you read it properly,it says all prices are for standard clean, have you heard about our professional prespay service. Then  they get in your house and they talk you into having the prespray, odour control etc.All hidden extras that Joe public knows nothing about.Cheeky monkeys.12.00 BECOMES 30.00.Steve

Lets face they are here and have been for years......ive a guy thats been going for more than 10 years and his prices are the same, he even does work for MARTIN & Co.........ive seen his work and IT IS CRAP.but he makes £100 per day and is happy....

I think that the NCCA is mopre about making money for themself than the industry in a whole.....i was told not to join it in 2000 by a supplier due o the fact you pay every year but will get bugger all in return :( ::) ::) ::)

My girlfriend said to me once I was in for a surprise and there would be the pitter patter of tiny feet around the house soon.

I was relieved to find out that she had hired a dwarf carpet cleaner.

After they had finished I said the job wasn't good enough and I wasn't paying.

The dwarf got really irate and said "I'm not happy"

So I said  "ahh, you must be Grumpy then"

Shall I stop now  ???

The dwarf guy used to clean kitchen floors as well with a 3000psi pressure washer.

We called him Linoleum Blownaparte.
