Got some heavy duty "marigolds" in a fetching black for £1.49 work a treat ;D
-
my problem, my hands are VERY sensitive to the cold, I mean they are very tough from when I was a waiter in school, I can hold VERY VERY hot things, but they hate the cold!! so I really need some warm gloves, i dont even find 40grams of Thinsulate any good!!!
-
just a bog standard pair of wooly gloves with a pair of marigolds over them.
can only wear them for an hour or so then your hands are toasty, and dry.
-
i want an all in one, no hastle that way
-
Luke those gloves i mentioned are by far the best, just get some and if there not suitable i`ll eat my pole.
-
will they last NWH? and are they very well insulated?
-
If you don`t like them say and i`ll buy them off of you i promise.
-

I have medium and there`s still lots of room inside them, there almost to warm on bitter days and completley waterproof, the ultimate glove.
-
my hand is 19.5 cm from wrist to top finger, and 23.5cm span, so i think i might need the large
-
well, i worked in the rain today.... with my new waterproof, windproof anti slash police gloves.....
hands were cold and wet...... another one bites the dust...
may just follow advice and get some builders gloves and liners.
-
I will give a review of the Sealskinz Winter Glove when it comes, NWH swears by them

Went down the local market last saturday, bought 4 pairs of fingerless/mitten gloves all for the pricely sum of £4 the lot. I've worn them all this week. when a pair gets wet i just replace with a dry pair and put the wet ones on the heater in between jobs. My hands have been like toast this week. the best £4 i spent for ages. Seaskinz who needs them ;)
-
Seaskinz who needs them
I do, I dont want to be wasting time putting new gloves on, sticking ones on the heater, its all time consuming! might as well get something decent ( i hope i like them lol!! )

I want a single pair of gloves, for a whole days work, not to be messing around washing them cos they smell and stuff!! pay cheap, pay twice, my dad always says it, and its true. Its always worth getting something a bit better ( not necessarily more expensive, but its usually the case )
-

Fingerless gloves thats a bit like wearing a headband for a hat lol. ;D

I think wearing no gloves is better than some wool or man made mix absorbing all the water, keeping it all around your hands in the cold, I believe in protecting my body from the cold, rain, wind etc, for my health later in life.
A guy turned up to collect all the scaffolding on a big job im doing. Me and my dad were kitted in full winter gear, gloves, hats, waterproofs as it was sleating in the bitter cold, the scaffolding man turned up with a jumper adn jeans with a rubbish pair of holy gloves!! you could tell he felt embaressed!
-

no there the stupid ones....were the new generation, we know our gore tex from our thinsulate!!!!
-
I been using wfp's for just over seven year's, ive tried so many different types of glove's. And i have found that the blue taskmaster gloves sold in homebase for around £3.99 are great, they last about four to six weeks if you are poling for approx 5hrs a day.
Ihave tried diving gloves unger gloves and other types of gloves and in my opinion they are all poop.
So give the taskmasters a go, they dont make your hands ache like other glove do,Plus they keep your hands quite warm in the winter.
;D ;D

I had some sealskin gloves last winter, the normal ones about £20 from memory, they were great for 3 months till they disintegrated. So then I used some snowboarding gloves to get through until spring.
Although not brilliant i went to "sports soccer" shop and bought another 4 pairs of snowboarding gloves and find each pair lasts about an hour or so before getting sodden. They were about £5 a pair at end of season.
Think I might try NWH reco, re: the £25 sealskins for this winter.
-
paul, these ones arent the neoprene ones, i hate neoprene gloves!!!

how long u had your pair nwh?

I had a 7 yr break from window cleaning but before I used to use neoprene cycling gloves, when really cold. I did 99% ground floor windows, mainly big shop, bank etc windows. So in winter just used a 5ft wooden broomstick.((Shame no one can invent a wooden WFP, as is much warmer than metal) . Extremely rarely needed to detail anything but twice a month had to do a Harvester with leaded windows. The scrim used to suck all the water out of the gloves, so if the weather was cold I was forever ringing out the scrim. In the end used marigolds with a liner but was not at all good.
Will order NWH reco in a min. Thanks,
-
Thinking about it. Do these modular poles feel really cold like a metal pole or not.
-
i use thinsulate wool gloves with pvc work gloves overt the top , not much good for detail work trad tho
