Title: competition
Post by: brencarpetman on October 28, 2008, 01:11:05 pm
Hi all,

My first post and hope i aint breaking any of the rules and if i am, sure they just wont post this.
Just looking for any tips to get into the hotel side of carpet cleaning and commercial cleaning.
Its just that chem dry have the whole place sewn up where  i live and i dont really know how to compete with their selling points.
I know they use the carbonation process with 02 but the fact that they extract  along with having the carpets dry in under an hour seems hard to compete with.
I am 100% HWE man myself but am interested in the microsplitters along with a rotary. Just another question while Im posting!
It doesnt appear that many of the people on here sahmpoo the carpets beforre they HWE rinse. IMO it seems easier  and possibly quicker than prespraying then mechanically agitating, all done in one go but that is just my opinion.
By the way i find all your input & info very informative on all subjects.
Kind Regards Brendan from Ireland.

When you say "shampooing".....what exactley do you mean.  Which extraction machine are you using?

Hi Richie,

Sorry I didnt explain myself very well!
What i should have said was instead of prespraying then mechanically agitatiing I just use the prespray in the solution tank of my rotary and agitate and prespray at the same time, as opposed to using a seperate sprayer then agitating.
If that makes any sense?
Im using the Power Flite perfect heat porty along with the RX20 for rinsing.
Maybe I should just stick to reading the posts instead of posting  cos I did not do a good job explaining myself!
Cheers!

Bren,

If your doing a good job, if your marketing right and you can sell yourself, Dont worry about c/d  as for

c/d having it sewn up, as you say , you are already admitting defeat , dont you think.

In our area, myself and M. halliday have proberbly more c/d,s than most places , even their uk headquarters are based where Mike is.
Not a problem for Mike, competion is good especialy as you say its just c/d  .
i would love that :)

Thanks Geoff for the info! its reassuring to know that ye have a lot of c/d 's in your area and it doesnt seem to be causing too much agro, maybe like you said i already have myself defeated, need to work on that!.

Alright Mike, to be 100% honest would'nt be the best on the sales front, but Im trying. I know realistically its about been a salesman first then a c/c.
