Living in East Anglia we have very hard water and this leads to limescale build up on the equipment. i usually use a limescale remover for the outside of my equipment, but really need to flush some product through my hwe extractor and truck mount. can anyone recommend a product for this?
or is it a simple case of continuely running an acid based carpet cleaner through the working of the machine.
Also wife moaning about the kettle, and the last kettle de-scaler are purchase was @*&£

Hi Karl
Hydramaster do a limescale remover to flush through your truckmount & portable. Have you considered using a water softner, you can install this in your van, this will prevent any build up of limescale. Prevention is better than a cure.
To stop wife moaning treat her to water filter you know it makes sense ;D

Nip to Hugh Crane and get some Clover Chemicals "Phos" for the extractor. I've used it in my Ninja for 4 years. Excellent stuff.
Dilute about 1:50 and run it through with the heater on for about an hour (probably less) depending on how bad the scale is. Put your jets and filters in undiluted and watch the scale bubble away. ;)
Not sure if you can use in a tm, its food industry safe and can be used on stainless steel (including kettles) ;D

Its no use just running acid rinse throught your machine as usually TMs have last step chem injection so in this case it would only de scale the chemical pump through to the solution outlet, leaving the heat exchangers un treated and it is this where your scale build up is.
Yes the HM de scaler is good and its acid free, it turns blue once the de scaling process has worked.

Evens vanasol I use on both porty and tm may be a bit ott on the kettle; I note it’s been mentioned softener in van very good idea, but I prefer the cheaper option one in the house kill two birds with one stone!

i hav used some gear before which worked a treat it was a mix of powder and liq put it in machine turned pump and heater on and left for about hour then flushed it throw i hav used this couple of times but forget what it was called ::) but it was from plumbase shop the heating eng use it to clean the wall mounted type house boilers

For descaling, follow the advice above. With your porty though, If you use an acidic rinse occasionally, this will stop it building back up. This may be once a week/fortnight/month etc. according to your needs. In my soft water area, I'll use Fabric rinse once a month, whether or not the job requires it. Never have any build up anymore.
