Title: Bigger protecta ball?
Post by: [GQC] Tim on October 22, 2008, 10:45:29 pm
Personally I feel that the size Gardiners do is a bit too small, the connector still hits the floor sometimes, even if you lay it next to your reel when reeling in. I use a trigger, that the rectus connector plugs straight in, so it's always off the ground, but even then it's had it's share of knocks.

Where can I buy a size bigger? I thought Alex sometime ago said they were going to do them a size bigger, must have been mistaken.

Use a tennis ball

Way too big to fit the trigger.  :P

Take a look at the trigger and you will see it won't work.

Yep, we're still searching for a bigger protecta ball.  The kids have got lots of samples bouncing around the house - too spongy, too foamy, disintegrates too quickly, etc, etc.  We'll get there!

I got some of them from a school we cleaned in the summer. They're perfect for the job!

We run 2 poles of 1 hose with a splitter and when reeling the hose in the splitter would bounce and bump along the ground and needed to be changed every 2/3 mths....

I have now found the perfect protector ball....

Now in stock as requested, they look identical to the originals, but are much larger at 63mm diameter. They weigh virtually nothing so are easy to haul around.

Just noticed your remote units Alex,.... what kind of feedback are you getting so far from them? I used a unit that looked identical and was very disappointed with the range.

One of our clients recommended them to us and he was very happy with the range of them. I haven't personally experimented with them as they have literally only just come in. During the week I hope to rig one up and give it a good test.
