See ionics are doing some deals on there ergolite poles are this poles really the best on the market at this size? Currently knocking nearly £200 off usual prize. What do you lot use for a 35ft commerical pole?
-
I have no idea if they are the best on the market - a lot of guys are using the modular poles now and they seems to be highly regarded, esp due to their low weight.
-
no one do anything over 2 floors i dont believe that :P
-
35ft if you want telescopic get a 34ft facelift,if you don`t mind using a modular a would get an SL2.In an ideal world you want both.
-
Ionic carbon pole is marginally more rigid than a Facelift pole but the clamp levers protrude from the clamp and are easy to catch on anything and then the pole drops on that section. Facelift clamps are better designed and pole is almost as rigid as an Ionics but not quite. Facelift pole diameter sections height for height in comparison to an Ionics pole is slimmer and more ergonomically user friendly on the hands.

Ergolites are okay, but original carbon poles.....no chance, far too heavy and really a false economy buying them heavier poles as they will slow your working day down and leave you feeling more tired. SL2 at that height unless it's a gusty day or blowing a gale where the benefit of a heavier pole has it's advantages.

tries tomos sl2 was well impressed :o

DO NOT BUY TELESCOPIC TREE TRUNKS,(ANYONES)
-
You can`t beat tele poles for most stuff under 30tf for speed.
-
Telescopic poles do have their place as long as they are light/stiff enough and are then compact enough to be used on tight ground floor work without having to change back to another pole.
Last week I was using the new 30ft SL-X on a days commercial work. It saved me about 25 minutes on the day because I was able to stay working on an awkward stretch of work over a wall that usually I would have had my modular out for the fourth storey stuff, but because it is so tight a space I would then have gone back and swapped to a telescopic for the third storey and down.
Each pole has it's place and used in the right place will save time and effort. On the above work I did later on the same job get the Super-Lite out for some 5th storey work and it was by far the easiest/quickest option for that section.
Ultimately a telescopic would be the best solution if it could be as light/stiff/compact/narrow as a modular. Whilst the 30ft SL-X is a definite step towards this, there are still engineering limits of what can be achieved with telescopic poles.
Any news on this pole Alex?
Thanks - Tristan
The 43ft is progressing and will be with us sometime soon.

I reckon on current pricing that it will be about £850. I'm sure that there will be one with your name on it.
