Ok guys...I was talking to a trad window cleaner and he told me he had 700-800 customers and cleaned around 40 a day...
No I do not want to start a WFP v trad ...poles better than yours debate...but just wondering how many houses you would do per day 5 days a week using the trad method ?
Now do not get me wrong but 40 just seems alot per day thats all.
Cheers
Dave.

40 very small houses.

40 very small houses.
I have a council round where i can do 50 in 8 good hours, but they are small!! Semi detatched, probably about 25 in 8 hours....trad that is!! :) you wanna be doing 3 semis an hr at least so thats 24 in 8 hours, but can do about 3 an a bit, with pole id imagine in 8 hours you would do more, or just finish early :)
40 semis though would be some going, and if they were priced right !! Your talking 300+ day!! Doubt it though as sole trader, maybe with someone though who was quick!

-
i used to do 50 a day,now ive cut it down to 30
-
I don`t doubt it`s possible but i still wouldn`t want to do it. :'(
-
When on trad working briskly on semi ex councils close together with good access I would do 3 an hour.
The same houses with van mount wfp? 5 an hour.
-
I can clean four average sizes semis per hour all day long !
-
Where I live there are lots of terraced houses , 2 windows , 1 door at the front and 4 windows at the back ,and quick to do. If he has some of them he can clean loads per day
-
6 5 windows front 3 back 2 doors. per hour x 7hrs = 42

It is hard work, its the climbing gates that gates me, i get sick of it, its a fortnightly round and used to do it once a fortnight in one big day, but do half a day a week now!! much easier, but still growing so ill prob be back upto 50 a week soon :( mustnt grumble! money is good, but bit of wfp nightmare and loads of gates! so i stick to trad and its knackering!

Theres no way that a window can be done every minute for 7 hours, reliably and to an acceptable standard. Not a chance.
You can do a window in a minute, but I wouldnt expect the rest of 'em to be done with any pride.
Too much bleedin' testosterone mate.

Then Mrs Smith wants to chat to you about her ailing husbands prostate cancer; and Mrs Jones wants to ask you for a gutter cleaning quote; and Mr Burns wants to pay you, but can't find his wallet, and Mrs Duffield has put an outside table and chair set right where you need to get access; so they all need moving out of the way; then returned... etc.
-
i do around 3 an hour for between 25 and 30 an hour wfp. i know all my customers and there problems and never get a complaint. would not swap that for 50 half done houses a day. might as well be working on a production line.
-
2 of us today cleaned 55 properties, started at 08.30hrs and finshed at 15.30hrs
-
he gets through 40 a day?
Is he talking about his Marlborough??

my thoughts exactly... if i need a workout i go to the gym ::)

Thanks...for the most part you all have pretty much said what I had been thinking but was not sure about...
Cheers

This guy is prob married to a rollin pin barge of a woman who holds her hand out for the housekeeping money when he eventually rolls in knackered.
Does it really matter how many houses we do in a day?
the real point is that you work for yourself, you enjoy it, and when youve done, you knock off early ;D
-
DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SOME HAVE 2 PUT FALSE FACTS UP - WE ALL KNOW WHAT EXCEPTABLE PER DAY IF DONE TO PROPER STANDARD... SOME PEOPLE ON HERE NEED TO STOP BULL......
-
Look guys the only reason that I aksed this question is that apart from a spell of 6 weeks when I had just left the army in 85' I have very little trad experiance so that was the reason for the question.
Cheers
Dave.

sorry for shouting ;D ;D ;D ;D but 40 per day x5 days per week could be done but as was said before customer delays etc i find it hard to believe - granted it all depends on the size of the house - windows etc
-
I cleaned 7 houses today started @ 10 finished @1.45 and i'm happy with my earnings ( no Bull ) did 2 more than i would have done normaly but i'm having a day off tomorrow, taking my 9yr old to alton towers free day out via a company a clean. Happy days, but thurs it all starts again i've got 12 houses to clean in only 8hrs :o
-
I cleaned 114 houses today... They all had 46 windows and 7 doors each, and I wiped the sills. It was possible because they are all in a row!
-
isn't it about how much you charge? not how many houses you do?

no need to shout, get your ladder and come up here for a day and there are a few lads you can go round with and do 40 a day,and they have the same customers they had 10 years ago so they must be up to standard ;D
same here Stan, some people are just slow and wont accept that others can do a lot more houses, when there was 3 of us we were doing 130 houses a day (trad), now there are 2 of us were doing 120(approx) per day (wfp) this is a wide range of all different shapes sizes of houses and some just fronts.. i have had most of my customers for over 10 years and dont get sacked so my job must be up to scratch..... here we go what do you all smell.
-
10 -15 houses a day wfp charge well im happy ;)
-

correct, spot on Steve ;)
-
They must be 40 next door neighbours, even if he takes as little as 5 mins going from one customer to the next thats over three hours there, so he would have to do each house asuming he was working ten hours in about 10 mins. so in all 15 mins per customer, 4 per hour, 40 per day. With no breaks.
Not me, I had about 15 in today, but only got about half of them done because of the weather.
Gerard :)
