Would be interested to find out what others think about this technology.
What with the credit crunch I doubt people will be forking out on this expensive glass now but for the future it looks like things could be changing.

If this so called "self cleaning glass" works then why are there so many of us still working as this nonsense was invented years ago and it always ends up needing cleaning,
so the makers of this rubbish product need to get real and stop kidding themselves ;)

ive posted on this topic numerous times, i clean for one of the ex bosses of pilkington and now a major shareholder in pilkington, his house is all pilkington activ "self cleaning" glass, the stuff doesnt work......at all. infact it makes larger bits of dirt stick to it and become baked on. It actually makes the windows dirtier, yes that right, dirtier. Not with the usual type of soft film of dirt but it attracts horrible massive bits of dirt, and as i said they get baked on to the glass, terrible stuff. Oh and charge more to clean it, especially as a fist clean...alot more, this stuff takes ages the first time.

i clean a custies house who has this "special" glass
and they are by far the dirteist windows from all my customers when i go back

Read the small print that comes with the book.
Self cleaning Glass does require periodic cleaning preferable with water less than 130 ppm (without digging the book out and being exact)
Plus it requires rain on the glass to do the cleaning job......when was the last time it rained hard enough onto 4 sides of a building at the same time to do this??????

someone posted a while back which i thought sums it up
its like a non stick frying pan easy cleaned but you still have to clean it
