Title: Thats the way to do it !!!
Post by: Londoner on October 19, 2008, 08:26:15 am
As many of you will know, as well as being a window cleaner I am a licenced London Taxi driver. In London all taxis are controlled by the Public Carriage Office. A few years ago they took over the licencing of minicabs as well which before that were unregulated.

This week we all got a letter saying that as part of Transport for London's anti fraud policy they are sending details of all London's Taxi drivers and minicab drivers to Inland Revenue and Customs.

YES! YES! YES!

Thats what I call a result! Regulation and registratration can work if its done properly. Now bring it on for window cleaners in London.

Being legit, I would definately invite that for window cleaners, but the problem in many cases is that they might not even be licenced and if they are, they could be registered with the IR, they might not be putting everything through.

But I guess it would put some people who dont want to do things properly off, and would get me more phone calls, so of course like you I would love if they would catch the others that are getting away with it.

Every time you go past police officers and they dont bother checking your licenced, you feel like you have wasted your money.
