I have done a far bit of work for a company up north called Arco, one of there main products is gloves> I have asked the expert what he would recommend and will let you know what he says.

I would be interested in a decent pair of gloves, I have had lots and they have all been rubbish. Most of the time I just go to homebase and buy a few pairs of the better gardening gloves. When they get too wet I switch to another pair and hang the old pair out to dry.
-
I've tried a few pairs of glove the unger ones last only weeks and make your hands stink, the sealskins lasted a couple of months a bit better butdidnt keep my hands warm they did fall foul to getting ripped on the pole clamps and strangly enough the best i have found are simply cotton gloves £1 a pair and over them I put std red rubber builders gloves
-
hi gurdy try these
good price too ;D

Those sealskins are rubbish :-\. They leak in between fingers and are hopeless for wfp.
Unger ones really do make your hands stink. :-X
Im gonna give the 5mm gloves a go that Matt recommended.

These are the gloves but it looks like the price has increased slightly.
I have tried the Unger, and other, neoprene gloves. When using a pole, they don't last very long, and they are very hard work getting on and off. In addition, the outsides are usually wet, therefore wet anything you touch, paperwork, PDA, etc.

Trike
Maybe I got a dud pair :-\. But they also tore to shreds when using them for WFP........as do most gloves.
Looking forward to trying out my 5mm scuba gloves.

Those hygeine supplies gloves look the business.
I think they are the same type those King Crab fisherman use in extreme weather.

Just grin and bear the cold, your body has a mechanism called the 'hunters reflex' the pain only lasts for 20 minutes and then your hands are toastie warm all day. Some old boys put theirs in cold water to get it over with, but that's going too far for me.
