Mike IS Henry Halliday, he changed his name when Boney M brought that song out because everyone kept singing "Hooray Hooray, its Henry Hallliday".

Honest

Love the Valencia Orange Tag, do you know what products they use Mike?

I might try 'Derbyshire bananas' but I don't think it quite has the same ring to it.  8)

Why put an ad in the paper when your booked solid all year round?

It's a mag that is in my immediate service area that goes to customers that may have used me before but it will act as a timely reminder as it's the kind if thing that gets read and then put down and then picked up again.

The reason for advertising when I have plenty of work on is to keep the calls coming in which keeps my prices high where if I don't get calls there is a train of thought that goes through your mind that customers don't book because they think you are too expensive so supply and demand and the fact that this magazine has no other carpet cleaner in it and if I don't go in someone else could so I am protecting myself.

shaun
you don't have to justify advertising when your fully booked.
all the top companies do it.
tesco asda to name but many.
imagine cocacola stopping advertising cos there selling loads.
when i'm up there with the top earners i won't rest on my laurels.

Gary I was plagued by that song at school!!!!!

I know, it was 1979 and your pupils used to sing it to you while you were trying to teach the Geography class. No wonder you left and started carpet cleaning  :)

The main thing is that my outgoings are very cheap for my business perhaps bourne from when I first started out with no money and the fact that I'm going to get a big tax bill so I might aswell offset something into the business perhaps a decent ad here and there wouldn't hurt.

A lesson to be learnt here.

You allways see Heinz baked beans advertised don't you. Well about 20 years ago they cut back  through revenue restrictions etc,  they thought they were OK because everyone bought Heinz beans, right? Wrong!

Their revenue went down through the floor. So they had to get back into regular advertising, they realised  they maintain their market leadership through consistent advertising (and good beans). Guinness and Coke are also good examples they are market leaders, they can afford to not advertise but they keep doing it.

If you dont advertise or recall customers, they will go somewhere else, Cross and Blackwell beans and Pepsi come to mind.

Happy Sunday everyone, and well done Hammilton cant wait for Brazil.

How about a letter or a card as a reminder much easier and less expensive
