I contacted a window cleaning company to clean my windows a year ago and i agreed there price, I never saw them again! And they turned up today expecting to clean my windows and they were a bit annoyed i had someone else cleaning them now.

I must admit I can be a bit slack when it comes to quoting for stuff; but if I know I'm going to be late, I always phone the customer and say something along the lines, 'we haven't forgotten about you; we'll be round roughly between(insert days of the week here).
And if we arrange a 'date'; I always make sure I'm there. First impressions count.
But a year later is really taking the mick.
That window cleaner must be on drugs or something.

work and quotes coming out of my ears
competitive prices and a good reputation will ensure you are always busy

I get a ton of work just because when I set up a bid I show up. I've even had ladies ask "are you really going to show up", I say "of course", they say "well the last two guys didn't". I'm blown away by that.

I also do this. Do the job immediately if quote is accepted.
Although sometimes if i get a call to quote and the house has a number instead of a name, i might tell them i will pop round, giving a date when i'm next in the area.
