Let's hear what I should replace my worn Unger microwipes with.
Preferably people who have experience with more then one brand, I've enjoyed the Ungers, but never really liked that both sides are different, one of the weaves feels like it's more for cleaning dirt off then for buffing panes up to a perfect dry finish.

bunzle... blue...flat weave... 600 x 600 mm... ten in a pck for 12 quid... brilliant
-
Unger!!!!
I have tried loads from aldi to woolworths, from Makro to Unger. Unger are the best there is no doubt. They are more expensive but they do last longer then most. ;D
-
I have tried quite a few and think scrim is far better
-
tried a few different ones ....unger been the best ;)

Bunzle? What's that? :)
I'm tempted to go with Unger again, especially since they lasted a very very long time, do they do them in single weave?
I've heard some good reports on the WCW blue microfibre, and also the sill cloth seems to be praised, any comments on them?

The WCW blue microfibre is an excellent sill cloth but I still prefer the "finer" Unger cloth for detailing
-
So it wouldn't do very well for detailing? :)

Its ok, but they are a little smaller and seem to get wetter quick if you know what I mean. They do hold loads of water and because of that I use them as sill cloths and the ungers as detailing cloths.
-
Hm, I might just have to go with the Ungers again.
-
i've used the large green unger microwipe for ages. they've been very good, but need replacing. i've seen a new smaller blue unger microwipe, has anyone tried them?
-
This is what i'm using now.

No coincidence it's over twice the price of the Unger.
-
I've tried loads including Unger, but now stick to tescos own brand microfibres but I do mostly use scrims, I really only use microfibres when using extention poles.

So it's that good then? Or are they just twice the size, and that's why they are more expensive? :)
I saw you commenting on them on another thread, you didn't like Unger cuz they had two different sides did you? How do these compare?
Thing is, normally I don't make a big deal about these things, but when I thought of it's, it's quite a bit of money, and I'm using it for well over a year.
-
Roger.....they are the same price almost.
The unger one is half the size hence half the price.

All microfibres have two different sides. That's how they're made.
They're not twice the size, it's about 10"x10" I'd guess.
I think the Unger's the same size.
I just find it clears up quicker with less smears.
I do the inside of a pub with georgians every week, and it takes about 5 seconds per window with this cloth.
I've checked in the sun too, and it hasn't smeared!
-
Hmm, they are quite expensive then, I'm going to buy one or two, and see how they work, thanks Roger. :)

the blue wcw ones are the only ones i use! ungers arnt a match for them

Good, I will give em a go, but dear me they are dear. :o ;D
I can buy a Tucker brush with that haha

ettore do a light blue microfibre that's good. the 1st unger cloths were very good, they seemed to change the style though, the 1st ones were flat cloths, the 2nd lot were ribbed on the back and not as good. i got mine from wintecs.

The large WCW microfibres are excellent, as are the Unger ones, and at 4 quid a pop they are hardly expensive considering how long they last you.
Years back you could get several different grades of scrim, but now they all seem much of a muchness and are not of the same weight they were years ago...and they are not half as good as microfibre cloths.
Scrim is fine, but micro is most definitely the way to go...
