Title: help with pricing and materials

evening, just been and had a look at some refurbished toilets. there are 5 toilets roughgly 3m x 5m and there are x2 shower rooms 8m x 3m. Both areas are tiled on the walls and have a vinal flooring. Both areas need a builders clean and a sparkel finish as the client is looking to use the facilities. what materials and chemicals do i need, how long roughly do you think it will take and how much should i charge.

Hi Reece
For cleaning the tiled walls, toilets, sinks, showers etc, we have found that microfibre cloths are a God send!!
All the sources I have read about these cloths all have stated that you do not need to use hardly any chemicals, infact some have gone as far to state that you do not need to use any chemicals!!
However, even though we have been thrilled to bits as a team using them on builders cleans, sparkles etc we still tend to use a weak cleaning solution either in a bucket of warm water, or even in a hand sprayer.
We use 2 microfibre cloths. One is a course microfibre, used to removing dirt etc....the other one we use is a much finer microfibre cloth and takes off the water etc leaving a streak free finish.....looks superb on the tiled walls.

If you were to go to your local cleaning supplier, they would show you the microfibre cloths that they sell.

Other than the microfibre cloths, other items i would look to having is a metal floor scraper, broom, dustpan and brush, toilet cleaner, general purpose cleaning fluid, toilet brush, disposable gloves, mop and bucket......and a flask of coffee!!

As far as how much to charge....the best price is the highest you can get away with!! However, as long as you work out how long it will take you to clean, how much profit you wish to make out of it and not forgetting to add on the cost of the cleaning equipment etc....you will arrive at an appropriate figure. Hard to give you a price, as someone in London area could charge more than someone operating in the sticks...

When you say vinyl floor you may be able to earn a bit more by sealing it, that if it not anti-slip type flooring Altro
