My mate has a villa in Ibeza and he has his windows cleaned for 3 euros by a local bloke. Quite an old guy, it takes him about four hours. Not because its a big villa, he relly is that slow.

hi mate sorry for delay in replying been on hols---hows business on the costa del sol--is there enought work out there to make a living is it word of mouth or work found thro advertising

Anywhere near CostaCalida?

hi scrubbers,
have a mate who has just returned from near that area. have you researched the work over there? reason i ask is that i know that estate agents are going to the wall in their droves and the housing market (like here ) has ground to a halt, there are plenty of english who are ready to turn their hand to anything to make ends meet, satellite installers etc. all who have little or no qualifications, money is tight and i would have thought that it will be hard for both you and your mrs to get a foothold.
alot of the properties that are built out there are fitted with security grills, because these are fixed the windows open to the inside making cleaning alot easier for someone who wishes to clean their own windows, regardless of what floor they are on.
i'm not trying to put a downer on your plans but its a long way to go and costs a hell of alot of money to move there and then have to come back ( i know this because i am still paying for when i came back after 6 months over 3 years ago now!)
if i were you i would go there on holiday and dip my toe in, to get a feeling
just my opinion

Greg - Your not far wrong mate!
I also came back from torre 3 years ago - EVERY ONE`S SCRATCHING for work!
Bars are closing down in there hundreds!
Me and my dad used to maintain about 60 villa`s & 35 pools, we used to do at least 150 airport runs a year!
This year my dad`s done just 11 airport runs and most of the villa`s we used to look after have been reposessed or sold off cheap by the owner`s (brit`s) - its looking very ugly over there at the mo - the main sat co has just been busted, the biggest builder SanJose has just gone under with 9000 unsold gaffs and now the banks are foreclosing if you miss just 2 payments and then there`s the crime factor! PLEASE PLEASE do your home work!!
I still have my villa over there in eagle`s nest villa Martin and I was there in aug - the place is a ghost town! costa del sol is much busier

Id just do one no one is getting any youger, after all if you have got to come back you will quite easily pick up a small round and carry on were you left off good luck.
-
your probably right if we dont try we will never know---may as well be skint in the sun rather than skint and cold here
-
Its not that warm here but the sun is shinning, it took me a while to get a good round going, but its possible to make 30 euros an hour, I got a couple of jobs that i can make more, but I go for the high end client.
A mate of mine charges less than me he does fine also, think he can do 150 plus a day, I pay my taxes so thats why I charge a bit more, and most of my works in Marbella in expensive pads, all done by appointment.
havent been on here a while hence slow responce.
