Title: Quick response if possible - Tempur mattress cleaning
Post by: benny d on October 09, 2008, 07:43:21 am
Hi all,
I am going to look at a tempur matress this afternoon.
Apparently it has a few stains from grand kids throwing some drinks on it etc. Can these be cleaned by a HWE TM? I now use a Hydrymaster upholstery tool, which I presume will be the correct tool to use, after vac and Alltec pre cleaning spray?
Any advise welcome  :)

Cant see you been able to do much with the memory foam, but they had a cover on which may respond to cleaning.I would have thought the cover will zip off for laundering.

I don't know for sure, but, they are made of very dense foam and my experience of very dense foam is, it has an ability to absorb an awful lot of water.
If that happens the cover might split !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But this is just a guess

From the Tempur website

Q: What maintenance does the TEMPUR Mattress need?
A: The TEMPUR Mattress needs no maintenance. Should you wish to wash the cover it can be easily removed and machine washed in accordance with the washing instructions.

*Please note the TEMPUR Deluxe mattress cover cannot be removed or washed.

We have a Tempur Mattress, I have cleaned ours a couple of times.

Light vacuum
Fine mist m/s
Run over using a Mini Tex Machine
Very low extract pressure with a Hydramaster Drimaster tool.
